Shipping and Receiving Specialist

We’re looking for a dependable, driven Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our team in Easton, MD. This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys staying busy, is willing to jump in wherever needed, and likes a mix of hands-on work and administrative responsibilities.

You’ll play an important role in keeping our parts and inventory moving—handling incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate inventory, coordinating freight, operating a forklift, and making customer deliveries when needed. If you have experience with inventory control, freight coordination, forklift operation, or warehouse operations, we’d love to hear more about your background.

Mid-Atlantic Truck & Equipment (MATE) is a heavy truck and equipment dealer, wholesale retailer, and service provider. We help our customers focus on their business—not their equipment—by providing the products, service, and support they need to keep things moving.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Pay: $20.00–$22.50/hour
  • Set Monday–Friday Schedule: 7:30 AM–4:00 PM with no weekends
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, and short- and long-term disability
  • Financial Benefits: Paid time off, 401(k) with company match, and employee referral bonus
  • Training & Development: On-the-job training and vendor training opportunities

What You’ll Do

  • Shipping & Receiving: Receive products from vendors, verify shipments and records, perform quality checks, accurately enter items into inventory, and prepare shipments for customers.
  • Inventory: Help maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure products are properly stored and organized.
  • Forklift Operation: Safely operate a forklift to move products and materials during receiving, storage, and order fulfillment.
  • Freight Coordination: Work with vendors, freight companies, and customers to coordinate shipments and help ensure timely deliveries.
  • Customer Deliveries: Make parts deliveries using a company vehicle as needed while providing a positive customer experience.
  • Safety: Follow safe practices when handling freight, tools, equipment, and materials.

What We’re Looking For

  • Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets applicable DOT/FMCSA requirements
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable using computers and basic software for record-keeping and communication
  • Experience with shipping and receiving or freight coordination preferred
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Dependable, organized, and willing to jump in and help wherever needed

Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on position that requires the ability to:

  • Work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environmental conditions
  • Kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, and reach as needed
  • Lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Safely enter and exit various vehicles as required
  • Successfully complete a DOT physical exam as required for the position

Communication Requirements

The ability to read, write, speak, and understand English is required to safely perform the essential functions of the position. Effective communication is important for following safety procedures and instructions, working with customers and TeamMATEs, and completing required job-related documentation.
