The Role

The Business Development Representative (BDR) plays a critical role in building and accelerating Telnyx’s sales pipeline and has a direct impact on revenue growth. This role is ideal for someone who is energized by outbound prospecting, uncovering new opportunities, and engaging customers around cutting-edge technology. If you’re excited about selling innovative Voice AI and communications solutions and growing your career in tech sales, this role offers meaningful impact and clear advancement opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Source new sales opportunities through lead follow-up, outbound calls, emails, and LinkedIn outreach focused exclusively on the India market.
  • Proactively identify and engage new business opportunities across assigned industries within India.
  • Qualify inbound and outbound prospects and use sound judgment to progress opportunities through the sales pipeline.
  • Develop tailored sales messaging and outreach strategies that align with customer needs, challenges, and business objectives in the Indian market.
  • Effectively communicate Telnyx’s value proposition, including our Voice AI, CPaaS, and network infrastructure offerings, and build trusted relationships with prospects.
  • Collaborate closely with Account Executives to generate high-quality meetings and pipeline.
  • Contribute to the broader sales engagement strategy through feedback and continuous improvement.
  • Accurately document all prospecting and sales activities in Salesforce.
  • Participate in ongoing training and remain up to date on new Telnyx products, features, and competitive landscape relevant to India.
  • Align with Telnyx’s business goals and continuously look for ways to improve outreach effectiveness and sales performance.

What We Are Looking For

  • Commercial experience in sales, business development, or marketing; SaaS, CPaaS, or technology experience is a plus.
  • Fluency in English and Hindi is required; additional Indian languages are a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong phone presence with the ability to quickly build rapport and establish credibility.
  • Comfortable engaging with customers and stakeholders at various levels of seniority.
  • Hands-on experience with outbound sales techniques, including prospecting, cold calling, emailing, and LinkedIn outreach.
  • Strong interest in technology with the ability to learn complex products quickly.
  • Prior experience in telemarketing, cold calling, or appointment setting is preferred.
  • High motivation to grow into a closing role within a fast-moving, high-performance environment.
