Robotics SOC Architect
Tenstorrent is leading the industry on cutting-edge AI technology, revolutionizing performance expectations, ease of use, and cost efficiency. With AI redefining the computing paradigm, solutions must evolve to unify innovations in software models, compilers, platforms, networking, and semiconductors. Our diverse team of technologists have developed a high performance RISC-V CPU from scratch, and share a passion for AI and a deep desire to build the best AI platform possible. We value collaboration, curiosity, and a commitment to solving hard problems. We are growing our team and looking for contributors of all seniorities.
Tenstorrent is building next-generation SoCs and chiplets to power robotics platforms—across autonomous vehicles, drones, industrial automation, and more. We’re looking for a Robotics SoC Architect to lead the platform-level integration of complex subsystems across our ML silicon portfolio. This is a key technical leadership role focused on delivering high-performance, scalable, and reliable SoCs tailored for the demands of intelligent robotics.
This role is remote, based out of The United States.
We welcome candidates at various experience levels for this role. During the interview process, candidates will be assessed for the appropriate level, and offers will align with that level, which may differ from the one in this posting.
Who You Are
- You’re a curious, lifelong learner who’s passionate about cutting-edge technology and always expanding your technical depth.
- You excel in collaborative, high-energy environments and enjoy contributing to multidisciplinary efforts.
- You’re self-driven, proactive, and comfortable taking initiative while navigating complex system challenges.
- You love solving multidimensional problems. Bringing together compute, connectivity, and control to create real-world robotics solutions.
What We Need
- Define and integrate multiple subsystems into full-system robotics SoCs, with hands-on expertise in at least two of: Ethernet, ISP, GPU, DSP, CPU (RISC-V or ARM), or security.
- Author and maintain detailed SoC architecture specifications, balancing performance, power, area, and robotics-specific functional needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, software, and systems) to capture requirements, model use cases, and deliver scalable, real-world solutions.
- Present architectural direction clearly to internal teams, partners, and customers. Being able to communicate tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Propose innovative features and technologies that advance robotics compute, connectivity, and integration.
- Ensure the SoC meets industry safety, security, and reliability standards, including for automotive-grade applications.
- Support execution from pre-silicon through bring-up, providing architectural support and debugging across disciplines.
What You Will Learn
- Deepen your understanding of the full robotics compute stack: from real-time control and sensor fusion to high-bandwidth connectivity and ML acceleration.
- Gain hands-on experience with open source ML frameworks and Tenstorrent’s AI accelerators, learning how they integrate with robotics platforms.
- Broaden your expertise in subsystem architecture, platform integration, and cross-layer optimization.
- Collaborate with world-class engineers and contribute to the silicon backbone of intelligent machines shaping the future.
- Help define and deliver hardware that pushes the boundaries of robotics performance and reliability.
