- Provide regulatory guidance and compliance support related to health insurance, financial services, and tax
- Collaborate with business teams to structure deals and transactions that advance company objectives while managing legal risk
- Partner with product counsel to ensure cohesive legal strategy across product development and commercial operations
- Support corporate governance, employment law, and general commercial legal matters as needed
- Manage relationships with external counsel and specialized legal service providers
Background we're looking for

- Knowledge of health insurance, employee benefits, financial services, or related regulatory environments
- Experience contracting with insurance carriers and brokerages with demonstrated ability to close complex transactions
- Proven track record of providing practical legal guidance in fast-paced, high-growth environments with a ruthless sense of prioritization around what deal terms are important
- Excellent communication skills and collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams
- Licensed to practice law in relevant jurisdiction
Experience we’d be particularly excited about
- Working experience with ERISA benefits and HRAs in particular
- Experience working with go-to-market teams to deploy commercial workflows at scale
- Track record of building legal processes, frameworks, and operations in startup or high-growth environments
- Fearless approach for utilizing new technologies to do your work
- Experience with enterprise software agreements, data privacy, and technology transactions
- Strong business acumen with ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives
- Sense of humor (lawyer jokes are a good place to start)
