The Florida Panthers enter the 2025-26 season as the two-time defending Stanley Cup Champions, having gone to the Stanley Cup Final in each of the past three seasons. The National Hockey League’s southernmost team, the Panthers have reached the postseason in a club-record six consecutive campaigns. The Panthers operate four facilities in Broward County, Florida: Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, the Panthers IceDen in Coral Springs, the new state-of-the-art practice facility Baptist Health IcePlex in Fort Lauderdale, as well as the renovated War Memorial Auditorium, which hosts concerts and events for the South Florida faithful.

Job Summary:

The Security Coordinator at Amerant Bank Arena plays a vital role in supporting the operational effectiveness of the Security Department. This position is responsible for coordinating the daily and event-based scheduling of full-time and part-time security personnel at Amerant Bank Arena. The role involves consistent collaboration with external partners such as the Sunrise Police and Fire Departments, and requires strong administrative and technical capabilities, particularly in scheduling and payroll systems.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Specific duties include but are not limited to:

    • Coordinate scheduling of FT/PT security staff for all daily operations and event coverage across affiliated venues.
    • Serve as liaison with City of Sunrise Fire and Police Departments to align staffing schedules, operational planning, and public safety coordination.
    • Track and manage part-time staff qualifications, certifications, and compliance records.
    • Monitor part-time employee hours across all venues to ensure quarterly thresholds are not exceeded in accordance with labor guidelines.
    • Assist Building Security Supervisor with weekly payroll processing including timecard reconciliation, error resolution, and submission tracking.
    • Maintain accurate and organized documentation for scheduling, payroll, training, and employee files.
    • Assist in onboarding and orientation of new part-time staff, ensuring all necessary documentation and certifications are completed.
    • Support the implementation and operation of scheduling and HR software systems.
    • Generate routine reports on staffing utilization, payroll metrics, and compliance status.
    • Provide occasional on-site support for event day check-in, deployments, and credential validation.
    • Collaborate with Building Security Supervisor and Part-Time Event Supervisors to support all facets of event planning and execution, including pre-event briefings and incident tracking.

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Associate’s degree in business, management, or related field.
    • 2–4 years of experience in administrative or coordination roles, preferably in venue operations, public safety, or event staffing.
    • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
    • Prior experience with scheduling software (e.g., When I Work, Humanity, Deputy) highly recommended.
    • Familiarity with payroll systems and timekeeping platforms is a plus (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Kronos).
    • Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills; must be able to work with both internal teams and external agencies.
    • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
    • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays during major events or peak scheduling times.
    • Prior experience in a security, public safety, or event management environment.
    • Working knowledge of labor compliance laws regarding part-time employment.
    • Experience in multi-site scheduling or coordination.

     

    Position Type / Physical Demands / Expected Hours of Work:

     This is an hourly, non-exempt position.

    • Ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time, walk, talk, hear, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and climb stairs.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, during events the noise level is generally loud.
    • Position requires frequent use of a computer and telephone.
    • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays as required.
