ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:
We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our team of data professionals supporting our Marketplace Zone. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of building out The Knot Worldwide’s global search ecosystem, shaping how couples everywhere connect with the right vendors, products, and content at the right time.
As a Sr. Data Scientist within the Marketplace Zone, you’ll drive the vision for a unified, intelligent search experience that spans marketplace, content, registry, and eCommerce. Your work will enable couples to easily discover what they need—whether it’s a florist, a veil, or inspiration for writing vows—across TKWW’s global ecosystem.
You’ll partner closely with cross-functional teams in the US and Spain, collaborating with engineering, design, and data science to build a cohesive, personalized search layer across products. In addition, you’ll work with product managers to design experiments, analyze data, and develop analytical tools that inform strategy and drive measurable results. In this role, you’ll be a trusted advisor and an integral partner in shaping the future of search at TKWW.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Gather, analyze, and interpret data to deliver business impact and help the organization make informed decisions
- Use descriptive statistical and modeling techniques like hypothesis testing, regression, classification, and clustering to augment data analyses and insights
- Forecast and simulate hypotheticals to deliver early potential signals before large initiatives start
- Design & analyze A/B testing experiments
- Build out self-serve reports, capabilities, and applications for partners within the organization
- Maintain a deep understanding of the product, relevant data products, and past experiments and analyses
- Recognize opportunities for new data products and integrations and work with business partners to implement them
- Work with engineers to ensure appropriate tracking is in place
- Communicate, collaborate, and present results to partners within TKWW
REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent communication skills; able to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Strong business acumen skills and ability to translate business problems into analytical solutions
- Foundational knowledge of statistics, including hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and forecasting
- Hands-on experience with A/B testing experiment design and analysis
- Advanced knowledge of SQL and the ability to write efficient SQL code
- Ability to code in Python for data manipulation, visualization, and analysis
- Basic knowledge of dimensional modeling
- Fluent in English
- Master's or Ph.D. preferred
- 3-5 years of experience
