Analyst Intern – MJ Benefits
Job Details:
Location: Carmel, IN | Phoenix, AZ | Denver, CO (Onsite)
Internship Dates: Summer 2025 (May 27–August 1)
Schedule: Full-time (37.5 hours/week)
Compensation: Competitively Paid
Role Overview:
As an Analyst Intern on MJ’s Benefits team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to high-impact analytics and data visualization efforts that support client-facing benefits consulting. You’ll work alongside a collaborative team of experts focused on transforming complex data into actionable insights that shape client outcomes. This internship is ideal for students interested in data science, benefits consulting, and client relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analytics
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends and patterns that inform client decisions
- Extract and validate data to ensure accuracy and integrity in all deliverables
Strategic Business Support
- Participate in internal problem-solving sessions to develop data-driven solutions
- Help prepare visual and written reports for client meetings
- Conduct research and contribute to the discovery of new opportunities
Team Collaboration & Communication
- Work with internal stakeholders to understand project objectives and timelines
- Assist in planning, documentation, and communication of analytics processes
- Join internal team meetings, knowledge shares, and collaborative planning sessions
Innovation & Critical Thinking
- Bring a creative, solution-oriented mindset to ambiguous or evolving business challenges
- Contribute ideas that support continuous improvement and innovation across the analytics function
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Risk Management, Finance, Business, Computer Science, or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with data mining tools and programming languages (e.g., Access, SQL, SAS, SPSS, R)
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Understanding of statistical concepts and modeling techniques
- Ability to manage time effectively and work both independently and within a team
