Software Engineer
The Swift Group is looking for a Software Engineer who will be responsible for developing, creating, and modifying general computer applications software or specialized utility programs tailored to meet user needs. The engineer will design and customize software solutions to optimize operational efficiency, working both individually and as part of a team. The role will involve analyzing and designing databases within application areas, as well as researching, designing, developing, and testing operating systems-level software. The candidate will leverage their expertise to provide innovative solutions that enhance the performance and functionality of software systems. Expertise in languages such as JavaScript or Java will be crucial in executing these tasks efficiently. This position is in Herndon, VA.
Required Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in software engineering or a related field.
- Expertise in programming languages such as JavaScript or Java.
- Proven experience in developing, creating, and modifying computer applications software or specialized utility programs.
- Strong ability to analyze user needs and develop effective software solutions.
- Experience in designing and customizing software to optimize operational efficiency.
- Proficiency in analyzing and designing databases within application areas.
- Skilled in researching, designing, developing, and testing operating systems-level software.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate with a team for database development and software projects.
- H.S Diploma
- US citizenship with an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with modern software development methodologies and frameworks.
- Knowledge of performance optimization techniques for software systems.
- Familiarity with various programming languages and development tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with version control systems and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
