POSITION OVERVIEW 

The Sales Tax Administrator is responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable sales and use tax laws and regulations. This role involves preparing and filing tax returns, maintaining tax records, managing audits, and staying current on changes in tax legislation. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience with tax software and ERP systems. 

JOB SCOPE 

The Sales Tax Administrator will be responsible for, but not limited to: 

  • Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions. 
  • Reconcile tax reports and general ledger accounts. 
  • Maintain accurate tax rate tables and exemption certificates. 
  • Research and resolve tax discrepancies and notices from tax authorities. 
  • Assist with sales tax audits, including gathering documentation and responding to auditor inquiries. 
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the company. 
  • Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., sales, purchasing, IT) to ensure proper tax treatment of transactions. 
  • Support tax planning and compliance initiatives as needed. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in sales and use tax compliance or related field. 
  •  Familiarity with tax software (e.g., Avalara, Vertex, Sovos) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite). 
  • Strong Excel skills and attention to detail. 
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently.

  • Job will generally be performed in an office environment but may require travel to visit company offices and/or property locations.

  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus.
