At Toradex, we build cutting-edge embedded computing solutions trusted by thousands of customers worldwide from medical devices to autonomous vehicles. To support our next generation of products, we’re looking for a Junior Project Buyer to join our Strategic Procurement team within the global supply chain organization.

In this role, you’ll work closely with R&D and Product Management to ensure the timely availability of key electronic components and finished goods during New Product Introductions (NPIs). You’ll become a critical partner in early-stage development, helping shape supply strategies, manage component risks, and support cost and lead-time optimization from concept to sample availability for customers. You’ll work with a global team of engineers, suppliers, and product managers, collaborating across time zones and cultures. This role calls for flexibility, problem-solving, and a hands-on approach. Together with the team, you'll help improve processes, overcome sourcing challenges, and make sure new products get off the ground smoothly and efficiently.

As a member of the Strategic Procurement team, you’ll be exposed to complex sourcing challenges and work cross-functionally to enable fast, scalable, and cost-effective product launches. Roles & Responsibilities

  • NPI Procurement: Coordinate and execute procurement activities for new product introductions
  • Component Availability: Ensure timely availability of electronic components during design and prototype phases
  • Order Management: Place orders, handle confirmations and follow-ups, and track sample deliveries to meet milestones
  • Risk & Cost Management: Identify supply risks with fallback options; conduct cost benchmarking and support early-stage price negotiations
  • ERP & Data Accuracy: Maintain procurement and master data in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365)
  • Prototype Planning: Coordinate prototype and sample production with internal and external partners
  • Supplier Onboarding: Support selection and qualification of new components and suppliers
  • Invoice & Finance Support: Assist the finance team with incoming invoice handling
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive optimization initiatives within procurement workflows
  • Strategic Procurement Support: Support the strategic procurement team with annual price negotiations, supplier evaluation, and performance measurement

 

Skills

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in procurement or sourcing in electronics
  • Applications and Tools: Comfortable using modern tooling like ERP systems (MRP/BOM), Atlassian tools, and API/EDI solutions
  • Language: Fluent in English (written and spoken), German is a big plus
  • Excellence: Structured, proactive, and precise
  • Time Management: Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Communication & Ownership: Strong communication skills and experience working in cross-functional teams
  • Solution-Oriented Mindset: Ability to handle multiple tasks and think ahead, identifying challenges and proposing solutions
