Localization Program Manager

The Tripadvisor Localization team is seeking an experienced Localization Program Manager to help drive 1) localization technology and 2) strategic localization programs and initiatives. This role will be a champion of global and will excel at collaborating in a global, distributed team environment. This role is instrumental in leading and managing the delivery of scalable localization technology infrastructure, supporting production of high quality translated deliverables and influencing teams to apply internationalization and localization best practices as they build products.

This role reports into the Senior Manager, Localization based in the US. The role is based in London, UK and occasional travel to other Tripadvisor offices can be expected.

What you’ll do:    

  • Manage translation tools daily operational activities, supporting the team and working with vendors to flag, prioritize and resolve technical issues

  • Support scalable localization technology solutions to serve all parts of the Tripadvisor business

  • Support innovation activities aimed at improving scalability, quality and processes

  • Support translation production of high quality deliverables across all Tripadvisor Media Group brands and languages

  • Work with internal stakeholders to influence the localization process from planning to execution  

  • Help identify technology/process/tool improvements and efficiency opportunities and drive implementation with the relevant teams

  • Support localization methodologies to enable truly localized products and content in all languages

  • Support technical integrations between content repositories and the localization infrastructure, working closely with  engineering teams

  • Influence teams to design and build for global, effectively applying localization best practices

  • Contribute to raise awareness of internationalization and localization best practices across the wider business

What you’ll bring to the team:

  • Proven technical localization background, with demonstrable experience in successfully delivering large-scale, complex localization solutions for multiple teams in a fast-paced technology environment

  • Granular understanding of localization technology (translation management systems), translation workflows architecture, localization and internationalization best practices

  • Understanding of new technologies such as generative artificial intelligence and their application to localization use cases

  • Demonstrated localization program management experience, preferably in e-commerce

  • Proven ability to build effective relationships

  • Ability to make decisions quickly and effectively

  • A self-starter who demonstrates initiative and tenacity while working independently. You will thrive on challenges and not be deterred by difficult situations. You will work proactively rather than reactively.

  • Ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams to deliver on new ideas

  • Excellent communication skills at all levels of an organization

  • Quality-focused with high attention to detail

  • Fluency in one or more non-English languages is a strong advantage

  • Degree level qualification or relevant equivalent experience (4+ years)
