About the job
As a Senior Data Scientist on Data Science & Analytics, GTM, you will use data to help Twilio Segment hone our understanding of Sales, Marketing, and Finance, and help stay on top of emerging business trends. You will work closely with GTM leaders and business partners to bring to light actionable insights to more efficiently run the business. You thrive at wrangling large amounts of data, building complex models, and scaling and automating processes, and have a demonstrated track record of excellence in project management, business sense, and cross-functional teamwork.
Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll:
- Own financial source of truth tables, performing analytics engineering to build & improve on the existing data model
- Implement dashboards & data science models using Python, Tableau, Looker, and open source libraries
- Utilize an industry-leading analytics portfolio to support key functional & business priorities (e.g., sales funnel, pipeline generation, financial modeling).
- Develop and maintain models and deliver data-driven insights, analyzing pipeline health and business drivers, and developing strategies and solutions to drive results for GTM.
- Work with Sr. Directors and Directors throughout Twilio to frame business opportunities and develop appropriate analytic strategies. Ensure the appropriate analytical techniques are used to solve those business opportunities.
- The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving greater insight and measurement of finance, sales, & marketing and identifying benchmarks for success, leading to improved GTM strategies and increased conversion.
- Generate insights and recommendations through exploratory analysis, hypothesis testing, and statistical modeling
- Drive cross functional analytics projects from beginning to end: build relationships with partner teams, collect and analyze data, and present key insights and recommendations to drive business improvements
- Perform in-depth analyses to understand the quality of our prospects and opportunities, refine customer personas, increase return on ad spend, and support upsell motions
- Design, build and maintain data models that the finance & marketing teams can use for reporting and deriving insights

Required:
- Have 7+ years of work experience, with experience at B2B SaaS companies
- MS/PhD in a quantitative or technical field
- Expert level SQL skills and dashboarding skills in tools like Looker or Tableau
- Strong grasp of statistical modeling and tools such as Python, DBT, Github, Snowflake, and Segment
- Comfortable diving into large, complex datasets and data systems
- Have strong business acumen and a deep sense of curiosity
Desired:
- Experience with Salesforce, Alteryx
- Previous experience with marketing data models
- Background automating manual processes
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to synthesize, simplify and explain complex problems to different types of audience, including executives
- Prior experience with large language models or generative AI
Location
This role will be remote but is not eligible to be hired in California, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Washington.
Travel

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

Based in Colorado or Washington D.C.: $123,520 - 154,400.
-
Based in New York, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $130,720 - $163,400.
- Based in the San Francisco Bay area, California: $145,280 - $181,600.

This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and corporate bonus plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.
The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
