We are seeking a Buyer to handle purchasing activities, from reviewing requisitions and planning purchases to selecting and maintaining qualified suppliers. You will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality sourcing of products and services.
What you’ll do:
- Reviews requisitions, plans and purchases from MRP system
- Confer with suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
- Select, update and maintain suppliers who participate in our ISO 9001 supplier program.
- Estimate values according to knowledge of market price.
- Determine method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.
- Prepares and manages purchase orders and bid requests.
- Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
- Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, suppliers, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
- Approves and reconciles invoices with discrepancies. May involve resolving receiving issues.
- Proactively expedites delivery of products from suppliers.
- Prepares and manages blanket orders.
- Develop and implement appropriate tools to manage critical and strategic commodities to ensure that the necessary supply levels are being maintained.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
- or 4-6 years related purchasing experience and CPIM Part 1
- or CPIM certification and 1 year equivalent experience
