Surgery/Anesthesia & Ophthalmology RVTs
Denver Veterinary Specialists (DVS) is seeking Registered Veterinary Technicians to join our growing specialty team in Surgery/Anesthesia and Ophthalmology. This is a dual-position posting, and candidates with interest or experience in either specialty are encouraged to apply.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new specialty practice from the beginning, with training provided prior to the opening of our Denver locations.
Position Details

- Employment Type: Full-time
- Pay Range: $24–$29 per hour, based on experience
- Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Availability to work weekends in the future as the practice grows
Training & Location Information
All hired technicians will complete their initial training at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital. Training will continue until the opening of our Denver Veterinary Specialists locations.
We plan to open our Lowry and Wash Park locations with a target opening of June 2026.

Surgery Registered Veterinary Technician
- Registered Veterinary Technician required
- 2+ years experience with surgery & anesthesia
- Prepare patients for surgery, including IV catheter placement, pre-anesthetic preparation, and medication administration
- Induce, intubate, and monitor anesthesia for surgical procedures
- Experience running ASA III+ cases
- Continuously monitor anesthetic depth and vital parameters (ECG, blood pressure, SpO₂, capnography, temperature)
- Assist with surgical prep, patient positioning, and maintaining a sterile surgical environment
- Provide attentive post-operative recovery monitoring and pain assessment
- Operate and maintain anesthesia machines, monitoring equipment, and surgical instruments
- Accurately document anesthesia records and perioperative care
- Collaborate closely with surgeons and specialty team members to ensure safe, high-quality patient care
Ophthalmology Registered Veterinary Technician
- Registered Veterinary Technician Required
- Assist veterinarians with comprehensive ophthalmic examinations and diagnostic testing
- Perform and support ocular diagnostics such as tonometry, Schirmer tear tests, fluorescein staining, and ocular imaging
- Prepare patients for ophthalmic procedures, including safe and precise restraint
- Assist with ophthalmic surgeries and procedures, maintaining proper instrumentation and sterility
- Administer ophthalmic medications and treatments as directed
- Educate clients on medication administration, post-procedure care, and management of chronic eye conditions
- Maintain and operate ophthalmology-specific equipment and ensure proper care and calibration
- Accurately document examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and patient responses
- Collaborate closely with ophthalmologists and the specialty team to provide high-quality patient care

$24 - $29 USD
