Garden State Veterinary Services is excited to announce we are hiring CVTs, or Experienced Veterinary Technicians, for our Oncology department!

Schedule: Wednesday – Saturday, 7:30am - 6pm

About GSVServices: We are a multispecialty practice with boarded specialists in Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Radiology, Neurology, and Critical Care. Our clients and patients also have access to ophthalmology, oncology, radiation oncology, dermatology, and radioactive iodine treatment.

Veterinary Oncology Technicians at GSVServices are vital members of our team, providing skilled, compassionate nursing support to patients undergoing oncology diagnostics and treatment. You will work closely with veterinarians to deliver specialized care focused on patient comfort, safety, and quality of life.

On any given day, you will:

  • Assist with and monitor patients undergoing oncology-related procedures and treatments
  • Prepare, calculate, and safely administer chemotherapy and supportive medications as directed by the veterinarian
  • Follow proper chemotherapy handling, safety, and waste-disposal protocols
  • Place and maintain IV catheters, administer fluid therapy, and manage CRIs
  • Obtain and process blood, urine, and other diagnostic samples for monitoring oncology patients
  • Accurately maintain medical records, treatment sheets, and chemotherapy logs
  • Monitor patients for treatment reactions, assess pain and comfort levels, and intervene as needed
  • Provide attentive nursing care and emotional support to hospitalized oncology patients
  • Act as a strong patient advocate, prioritizing comfort, dignity, and quality of life
  • Educate clients on chemotherapy protocols, at-home care, potential side effects, and monitoring needs

About You:

  • CVT/LVT preferred, or a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Veterinary Technician
  • Oncology experience highly valued, or a strong desire to learn and grow in this specialty
  • Strong understanding of medical math, drug calculations, and IV therapy
  • Experience with anesthetic and patient monitoring
  • Proficiency in basic laboratory testing and specimen handling
  • Solid knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and normal vs. abnormal physiologic values
  • Commitment to patient safety and meticulous attention to detail
  • Desire to mentor and support veterinary assistants and fellow team members
  • Ability to thrive in a compassionate, highly collaborative team environment
  • Excellent communication, organization, and client-education skills
  • A positive, empathetic, and team-oriented attitude
  • Dedication to building long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community
  • Honesty, integrity, curiosity, and a genuine passion for providing exceptional care—even on the toughest days

Schedule: Wednesday – Saturday, 7:30am - 6pm

Salary: $23/hr - $34/hr depending on skills, experience, and credentials
