Position Overview

As a product manager with the Government Solutions business, you will be the leader of backoffice (cloud data processing) solutions, driving product strategy and execution, charting the roadmap, and managing the lifecycle of Verra Mobility’s market leading backoffice systems.  As a member of the product management team, you will partner with leaders across the product, operations, engineering, IT, and sales teams to drive innovation and leverage the latest technologies to deliver best in class backoffice systems that achieve business objectives.  The successful candidate will be passionate about technology with an ability to lead innovation and execution.  In this business critical role, you will merge customer needs with technology to cast a vision for Verra Mobility’s legacy and future backoffice solutions and drive the organization toward that goal.   You will collaborate with key internal stakeholders to manage the backoffice systems across their product life cycles, gathering requirements, scoping initiatives, establishing product roadmaps, and working with development and support teams to ensure high product quality while minimizing cost.  

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Develop a deep understanding of business goals and processes to inform product priorities and improvement recommendations 
  • Develop strong relationships and regularly communicate with product stakeholders and customers to shape the product strategy and surface and prioritize needs 
  • Monitor business, market, and technology trends to inform product strategy and proactively propose new solutions 
  • Maintain a roadmap and release plan that effectively prioritizes the delivery of features and technologies to meet customer needs while providing best in class solutions to our markets 
  • Contribute to translating business requirements into actionable product and technical requirements through prototyping and MVP definition 
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate product performance and proactively champion product improvements, making recommendations in the form of business cases and securing business approval 
  • Determine internal and contract/partner/external resources and skills required to deliver on the product roadmap 
  • Partner with engineering and support teams to ensure the optimal design and delivery of solutions 
  • Guide the product engineering team to scope, plan and deliver work, applying established delivery methodologies (e.g., agile methods) and best practices (e.g., reusability) 
  • Proactively identify and resolve blockers to achieve business objectives for the product, including technical and resourcing challenges 
  • Ensure alignment and adherence to corporate, financial and IT standards (e.g., architecture, compliance, security) 
  • Manage investment decision making and finances for the product, taking a return-on-investment approach to increasing the value while minimizing product costs 
  • Define, track, and communicate relevant KPIs for the product to measure performance and contribution to business goals and strategy. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, or another engineering / technical degree, or equivalent practical experience required 
    • MBA a plus 
    • Minimum 5 years working in technology and product development 
    • Minimum 3 years in defining requirements, journey mapping, and prototyping based on user needs 
    • Minimum 3 years leading product strategy, including scoping projects and charting/maintaining roadmaps  
    • Broad understanding of cloud and compute technologies, such as AWS/Azure, multimedia data processing, data storage/management, artificial intelligence, and how APIs work) 
    • Knowledge of APIs and a passion for developer experience a plus 
    • Knowledge of or interest in image and video processing and pipelines a plus 
    • Knowledge of mobility and road safety a plus 
    • Excellent skills in critical thinking, problem solving, and analysis. 
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 
    • Solid written & verbal communication skills and gifted in interpersonal interactions (e.g., collaboration, consensus building, conflict management, etc.) 
    • Ability to foster positive client interactions while challenging and probing for insights 
    • Experience driving cross functional teams across all levels and functions 
    • Ability to function in a fast-paced, dynamic environment - managing diverse priorities 
    • Must be able to travel 20% of the time
