Role Overview: 

As an experienced Director of Cloud Operations, you will lead our Application Support and DevOps teams to ensure the optimal performance and health of our SaaS products. This role involves overseeing day-to-day operations, maintaining our technology stack, and ensuring adherence to SLAs and KPIs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud technologies, particularly AWS, and a proven track record in team leadership, problem-solving, continuous improvement, and cloud cost savings. This role is remote but will require travel of about 15% a month, mostly to our office in Mesa AZ. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and mentor the Application Support and DevOps managers and their teams, conducting performance reviews and fostering skill development. 
  • Oversee cloud operations, ensuring smooth daily support, product upgrades, and SLA compliance. 
  • Own the escalation process and ensure that as an organization, we are responding swiftly to any infrastructure issues. 
  • Develop and maintain processes to ensure proper application performance and alert monitoring. 
  • Implement process improvements using industry best practices like ITIL and DevOps methodologies. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new products and provide feedback for enhancements. 
  • Drive cloud cost savings using cloud vendor tools and working closely with a FinOps engineer and the finance team. 
  • Security and Compliance. Work closely with the architecture team and the CISO office to ensure that our cloud infrastructure and applications adhere to industry best practices for security and compliance. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience 
  • 5+ years of experience in a director role managing and scaling high performing Application Support and DevOps teams. 
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and talent management skills including talent development, coaching, mentoring, and team motivation. 
  • Proven track record managing multiple managers and other leaders. 
  • Ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships and collaboration at all levels of the organization in addition to vendors. 
  • Strong business acumen and ability to understand and drive business objectives. 
  • Must have a strong background in SaaS product support and cloud technologies such as AWS (preferred) or similar.  
  • Has identified areas of improvement and building new processes. 
  • Identifying cost savings strategies and partner with finance and additional teams as needed to drive initiatives. 
  • Successful completion of the Nlets fingerprinting background assessment.
