Position Overview:
The CAD Specialist will work closely with the Civil Design Engineer(s) and Design and Engineering Manager in support of CAD drawings and field surveys for field installations across North America. The drawings are primarily of traffic intersections for the installation of red light, speed traffic and bus lane camera systems. This work will require high proficiency with Auto CAD software, working well with design and inner departmental support teams to complete construction drawings and management of resubmittals addressing comments meeting various state and municipal requirements. Verra Mobility is looking for a CAD Specialist that is a team player and is a highly motivated individual.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Must have excellent organization skills, flexibility and the ability to multi-task with efficiency
- Must have good working knowledge of plan preparation and quality assurance practices
- Must be able to read blueprints and engineering documents
- Excellent written and verbal communication organizational and analytical skills
- Prepare highly detailed drawings for approval for local municipalities throughout North America
- Ability to interpret and understand codes, specification, standards and traffic control plans.
- Organizing project drawings, specifications and other types of construction documents
- Interfacing with engineering, field services and service transitions teams as required
- Maintain database of drawings, details and engineering documents. Support the overall planning and development process of construction projects
- Support or facilitate physical site surveys by gathering field measurements and requirements and interpret field data into digital plan sets for submittal
- Support work with field technicians and/or external contractors during the construction and power phase of proposed installations and support completion of final record drawings that are accepted and implemented for camera installations
- Administrative support reviewing permitting authority comments, aggregating those comments in a central location, and modifying plan sets to address all conditions received from permitting authorities
- Quality assurance evaluation of completed drawings in light of the CRQ document drafted with the client to ensure full compliance with requirements and minimizing the number of resubmittals
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in related field or equivalent work experience highly preferred
- Experience with red light camera or traffic control systems and environment preferred
- High School Diploma, GED or higher or technical training certificate for using AutoCAD software
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in drafting of construction and engineering drawings, wiring (one-line) diagrams and associated documentation
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working with AutoCAD or similar systems
- Prior experience using windows operating systems and applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
- Strong knowledge of civil drafting procedures and tools
- Ability to support the team and function successfully within a fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
