Position Overview:

As a Lead Quality Assurance Analyst, you will oversee a team of manual test engineers responsible for validating web-based applications and backend systems that support our Commercial Services customers. You will collaborate closely with other members of Verra Mobility’s QA organization to share knowledge, drive best practices, and continuously improve our testing capabilities. In addition to leading manual testing efforts, you will provide strategic guidance and oversight to automation engineers, ensuring consistency and alignment across testing methodologies and frameworks.

This role demands strong leadership, clear communication, and excellent organizational skills. You should bring hands-on experience in both manual and automated testing, along with a proactive mindset and a passion for quality.

You will work extensively with Microsoft technologies, including Azure DevOps (ADO) to manage test cases, track defects, and coordinate testing activities across teams. Plus .Net and Playwright for automation.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of manual and automated QA engineers, fostering growth and collaboration.
  • People management for both FTE and contractors
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to automation engineers.
  • Review requirements and design comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Coordinate and execute functional, regression, system integration, and user acceptance testing.
  • Ensure QA milestones are met and product releases align with quality goals.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood and met.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to iterative development cycles.
  • Document test results, defects, and testing progress clearly and accurately.
  • Define scope for regression and end-to-end testing across multiple projects.
  • Continuously improve QA processes and advocate for best practices in both manual and automated testing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in software quality assurance.
  • 5+ years of experience developing automation test with C# and/or Java and manual testing web-based applications and backend systems.
  • At least 5 years of experience working with Windows operating systems and applications and using QA testing tools like Azure DevOps, Selenium/PlayWright and SQL related tools.
  • Experience leading and mentoring both manual and automation QA engineers in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong experience writing test cases, test plans, and executing manual tests.
  • Familiarity with defect tracking systems.
  • Experience with relational databases and ability to write and analyze SQL queries.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Experience with Iterative Development in an Agile Scrum environment including their documentation and creation.
  • Ability to conduct functional testing, regression testing, system-level integration testing, end-to-end testing, and acceptance testing.
  • Experience in testing APIs.
  • Knowledge and experience with version control and defect tracking systems.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and task responsibilities simultaneously and switch among them quickly to meet prioritize business needs.
  • Gather, use and analyze defect metrics data to present analysis findings to the appropriate levels of management verbally and through the preparation of periodic written reports.
  • Good understanding of writing tests using standard frameworks like nUnit/TestNG.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative and approachable demeanor.
  • High technical aptitude and eagerness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies.
  • Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills to address complex challenges.
  • Professionalism and composure in interactions with peers, stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Must be locally located and comfortable working a 3 days in office hybrid model and 2 days remote.
