About the Role

We’re looking for a Staff Product Designer to lead high-impact, cross-functional design initiatives across VSCO’s product ecosystem. You’ll bring deep product thinking, strong systems design skills, and creative leadership to everything from growth and onboarding to engagement, monetization, and community experiences.

In this role, you’ll partner closely with product, engineering, research, data, and brand to shape the strategy, structure the problem space, and deliver intuitive, delightful experiences that align user needs with business goals. You’ll mentor other designers, evolve our design systems, and help raise the bar for design excellence and cross-functional collaboration.

This is a rare opportunity to influence the full creative journey for an inspiring and passionate audience of photographers and creators — across mobile, desktop, and web.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead strategic design initiatives across key product areas, including (but not limited to) onboarding, lifecycle, creative tools, and community features
  • Shape and influence product vision by balancing user needs, brand values, technical constraints, and business priorities
  • Design across the stack — from early exploration and strategy to polished visuals, interaction patterns, and implementation details
  • Use data and experimentation to improve product performance and deepen user engagement
  • Structure and bring clarity to complex or ambiguous problem spaces
  • Collaborate deeply with cross-functional teams to align on strategy, ship high-quality work, and scale impact across teams
  • Mentor and support other designers through feedback, knowledge-sharing, and design critique
  • Contribute to our design systems and design operations — helping the team move faster with more consistency and intention
  • Advocate for accessible, inclusive, and user-centered design principles across the organization

What We’re Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience designing and shipping digital products, including leading complex initiatives from 0→1 and through iterative improvement
  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates strategic thinking, product impact, and design excellence across multiple surfaces and touchpoints
  • Experience designing for mobile (iOS/Android) and responsive web
  • A track record of using data, experimentation, and customer insight to guide product decisions and deliver outcomes
  • Systems thinker who can design scalable patterns and frameworks across surfaces and user journeys
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills — you’re able to influence and align through clarity, not just charisma
  • Proven ability to lead design strategy while also executing with craft and care
  • Experience mentoring and guiding other designers with thoughtfulness and generosity
  • Fluency with Figma, prototyping tools, and modern design workflows
  • Comfortable with ambiguity — you thrive when bringing structure and momentum to undefined spaces

Nice to Have

  • Experience working on creative tools, creator communities, or subscription products
  • Familiarity with experimentation frameworks, or onboarding strategy
  • Past experience at a startup or scaling company where you wore multiple hats and drove end-to-end outcomes
  • Affinity for VSCO’s mission and creative community
  • Experience in growth design, including acquisition, activation, or retention work

What Success Looks Like

  • You lead high-leverage projects that materially improve acquisition, engagement, or creator success
  • You bring clarity to complex challenges and create scalable solutions that serve the needs of multiple teams or surfaces
  • You elevate the craft and strategic impact of the Design team
  • You mentor others and model what great design leadership looks like

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
