The People Specialist (Assignment: Wellness & Benefits) is accountable for developing and delivering initiatives that support employee wellness across areas such as mental health, physical fitness, nutrition, and work-life balance. The People Specialist assesses needs, coordinates resources, provides guidance, and collaborates with internal teams, healthcare providers, and external partners to create a supportive and inclusive environment that prioritizes wellbeing. This role will also oversee the day-to-day operations of employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and ACA.

  • Blends strategic wellbeing with operational ownership of benefits - this role goes beyond traditional benefits administration by designing holistic wellness programs while directly managing the day-to-day execution of benefits that impact every team member’s experience
  • Drives measurable impact in a mission-driven healthcare environment - you’ll shape initiatives that support the wellbeing of the teams caring for our most vulnerable seniors, using data and insights to continuously improve programs that directly influence engagement, retention, and overall team health

On the day-to-day, you will:

  • Design and implement wellbeing programs and workshops, as well as conduct needs assessments and analyze wellness data
  • Promote mental health awareness and resilience strategies, as well as provide one-on-one support to team members
  • Collaborate with HR, leadership, and community stakeholders, as well as evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements
  • Stay updated on wellbeing trends, research, and best practices
  • Administer employee benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans, as well as support open enrollment planning, communication, and implementation
  • Assist with systems implementation management and benefit data analysis
  • Comply with ACA regulations, including eligibility tracking and reporting requirements

Job requirements include:

  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in wellbeing, wellness program management, or benefits administration including HRIS implementation
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, psychology or a related field; relevant experience may be substituted
  • Relevant certifications in wellness coaching, mental health first aid, benefits, or human resources a plus
  • Must have knowledge of health, wellness, and benefits administration
  • Ability to manage programs and analyze data
  • Familiarity with HR systems or data tracking tools
  • Must have advanced knowledge and utilization of MS Excel

Salary/Wage base range for this role is $75,000 - $100,000 / year + Bonus
