Job Description:

The Resident Director will be aware of ISA by Worldstrides’s mission statements and work for their fulfilment and guarantee that everything that ISA/WS includes in the program is delivered with the highest quality standards. They will be aware of the trends and changes in the field of Study Abroad and look for growth opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Conduct job interviews and keep updated the data base with suitable candidates.
  • Terminate contracts and follow legal and administrative procedures.
  • Train new staff and ensure that they are given access and follow corporate training.

Finances and Administration

  • Manage finances of the legal entity in the country and ensure compliance with local tax and legal requirements following the guidelines of the accountant and lawyer.
  • Submit monthly reports about company accounts and cash flow following the company’s guidelines.
  • Assist in the creation of program budgets and manage the existing ones.
  • Negotiate prices and conditions with vendors and partners.

Communication and collaboration

  • Keep supervisors fully informed about the program.
  • Ensure a fluid communication between the on-site team and the team in the States.
  • Collaborate with other WS divisions to deliver the best services and to help growing as a company.

Academics

  • Represent ISA/WS with current host universities and explore new opportunities of collaboration.
  • Ensure that all the academic procedures for ISA/WS students are fulfilled (visa, tuition, transcripts…) and that academic support is provided.

Student and employees care

  • Ensure the health and safety of employees while engaged in their duties, of students and that ISA Health and Safety guidelines are followed.
  • Ensure that emergency assistance is available 24/7.
  • Assist students’ needs.

Bridging Cultures Orientation and the Discovery Model.

  • Ensure that a meaningful BCO and DM is delivered.
  • Manage logistics for all the co-curricular activities, excursions and trips and ensure that they are aligned with the Areas of Discovery.
  • Collaborate with the team responsible for the ISA social networks and provide meaningful content.

Other preferred knowledge:
- Knowledge of American Higher Education system, the culture of U.S. academic institutions and their processes.
- Knowledge of the Study Abroad field.

  • Language competence in English and German.
  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Events and team management experience.
  • Computer skills.
  • Solid organizational skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Maintain appropriate relationships with other in all physical, verbal interactions and any kind of written and digital communication.
  • Maintain professional courtesy, appearance, and image at all times.
