Job Summary
SEM Associates at Thomas Marketing Services execute and drive integrated search engine marketing strategies across both SEO and PPC for our B2B clients in the industrial and manufacturing space. This role owns the day-to-day execution and strategic optimization of client SEM programs, ensuring strong performance across organic and paid search channels.
Working alongside a team of SEM professionals, Client Services, and Production leadership, SEM Associates help deliver high-quality keyword research, technical SEO, on-page optimization, paid media campaign execution, and performance reporting. This role requires analytical thinking, comfort with marketing technology platforms, and the ability to manage multiple client programs while delivering actionable recommendations.
What you’ll be doing as our SEM Associate
● Execute integrated SEO and PPC strategies for assigned client accounts
● Conduct keyword research to identify high-opportunity keyword groups and optimization strategies
● Monitor client website technical performance and recommend improvements to support SEO best practices
● Implement on-page optimizations, including metadata updates, schema, and content publishing support
● Build, optimize, and maintain Google Ads and LinkedIn Ads campaigns to drive performance KPIs
● Audit existing paid media accounts and identify optimization opportunities
● Monitor web analytics dashboards and reporting tools; deliver regular insights and recommendations
● Assess user flow and conversion performance across SEO and PPC efforts
● Recommend budget, bidding, targeting, and ad creative optimizations to improve paid media results
● Communicate performance insights and strategic recommendations to internal teams and Client Services
● Occasionally join client calls to support strategic discussions and reinforce recommendations
● Stay up-to-date on SEM industry trends, platform updates, and algorithm changes
What you bring to our team
● 2+ years of experience in search marketing or digital marketing
● Working knowledge of both SEO and PPC best practices
● Experience executing Google Ads campaigns and SEO optimization initiatives
● Proficiency in Google Analytics (GA4), Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console, and Looker Studio; certifications preferred
● Strong analytical and written communication skills
● Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities in a fast-paced environment
● Curiosity and motivation to stay current with SEM trends and innovations
Some nice-to-have experience
● B2B and/or industrial/manufacturing industry knowledge
● Agency experience
● Experience with SEM tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and more
● Experience with HubSpot and WordPress
● Google Ads and/or Google Analytics certifications
