About the Role
The System Administrator position is a critical member of Zenni and the Center of Excellence for Customer Service in the Philippines, responsible for managing, maintaining, monitoring, troubleshooting, and securing server systems, enterprise applications, and IT infrastructure. This role focuses on system administration tasks across both on-premise and cloud environments, supporting hybrid infrastructure across multiple locations including Marin County, Ohio, China, India, and the Philippines. The System Administrator will ensure uptime, security, and performance of core systems while providing technical support for both APAC and U.S. East Coast facilities. Reporting to the Director of IT Security & Infrastructure, this full-time position is based onsite at the Zenni COE Center in the Philippines
Responsibilities:

Provide operational support for server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers, cloud environments, and enterprise applications.

Manage and troubleshoot Windows and Linux servers, virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and backup and recovery systems.

Effectively monitor, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues, proactively identifying and remediating root causes to ensure system health and performance.

Ensure server uptime, system reliability, and performance meet organizational objectives and SLAs.

Collaborate with the IT Security team to implement system-level security controls, hardening servers, and maintaining compliance with security standards.

Proactively recommend and initiate system upgrades, patches, and projects aligned with organizational goals and technical roadmaps.

Track and monitor changes in the system environment, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of incidents, changes, and resolutions.

Create and maintain system documentation, including configurations, procedures, inventories, and support guides.

Maintain clean and organized server rooms, racks, and cable management in data centers and IDFs.

Provide system and end-user support during events, business hours, and as needed for critical operational functions.

Assist the IT team with various infrastructure and end-user support duties as needed across the organization.

Maintain working knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including Zero Trust architecture, encryption standards, and secure configuration practices
Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical field, or equivalent experience in system administration and IT infrastructure.

Minimum 3 years of experience in system administration, server deployment, and enterprise infrastructure support.

In-depth knowledge of server management, virtualization, high availability systems, and capacity planning.

Strong experience with Windows and Linux server environments, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.

Thorough understanding of authentication protocols (e.g., LDAP, Active Directory), identity management, and system security best practices.

Experience with system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting tools.

Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid cloud environments.

Experience managing and supporting virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).

Advanced knowledge of scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).

Experience with enterprise backup solutions, disaster recovery planning, and data protection strategies.

Proficiency in managing patching, software deployments, and configuration management tools (e.g., SCCM, Ansible, Puppet).

Solid understanding of DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and general networking concepts as they relate to system administration.

Experience with endpoint security, anti-virus systems, and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001).

Strong experience in managing user access, SSO, and group policy administration.

Technical support experience for end users across multiple departments and platforms.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently.

Capable of managing multiple, sometimes conflicting, priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a customer-service orientation
