Senior Atlassian Administrator

WHO YOU ARE:

As a Senior Atlassian Administrator, you will be responsible for the overall administration, customization, and maintenance of our Atlassian platform. Your primary focus will be to ensure the seamless operation of Jira, Confluence, OpsGenie, and other Atlassian products, including managing user accounts, workflows, custom fields, security schemes, and integrating with other tools and systems. A strong background in API development is required. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, design and implement solutions, and provide technical support to Atlassian users.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:  

  • Administer, configure, and customize Jira instances, including project setup, workflow management, and screen configuration.
  • Develop and maintain Jira schemes, custom fields, issue types, and workflows to align with business processes and best practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications for Jira configuration and customization.
  • Design and implement Jira dashboards, filters, and reports to provide meaningful insights and support decision-making processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Jira functionality, performance, and integration, providing timely support to users.
  • Conduct regular audits and perform data analysis to identify areas for improvement, optimize workflows, and enhance system performance.
  • Stay up to date with the latest Jira features, functionalities, and best practices, and evaluate their applicability to enhance our Jira environment.
  • Provide training and documentation to Jira users, ensuring they can effectively utilize the platform and its features.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, project managers, and system administrators, to drive efficient and effective project management practices within Jira.

Administer Confluence:

  • Administer, configure, and customize Confluence instances, including space setup, and permissions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Confluence functionality, performance, and integration, providing timely support to users

Build Atlassian Solutions:

  • Apply business analysis thinking to new capabilities you will build using Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, OpsGenie).
  • Apply project management best practices to delivery projects you will manage as an Senior Atlassian Administrator.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, project managers, and system administrators, to drive their efficient and effective project management practices within Jira.
  • Integrate Jira products with other tools and systems using APIs to ensure seamless data flow and enable automated processes.

Support our Atlassian Users:

  • Use Zinnia’s IT Service Desk (powered by Jira Service Management) to provide excellent service to our Atlassian users.
  • Take ownership of, and close within SLA’s, service request and incident tickets opened by our internal users.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:  

  • 4 to 6 Years of relevant experience. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as an Atlassian administrator, preferably in a senior or lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of Jira and Confluence administration, configuration, and customization, including workflows, schemes, issue types, and permissions.
  • Proficiency in API development and integration to connect Jira and Confluence with external tools and systems.
  • Familiarity with Jira Service Management projects is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management practices.
  • Familiarity with business analysis and requirements management practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Jira, Confluence, and their integrations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in configuration and data management.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Relevant certifications, such as Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator, are a plus.
