Position Overview

Join the team at Zynga making an impact across all of the company’s games - Mobile Game Tech! We focus on shared client & server tech that drives our games.

We’re looking for outstanding engineers with a passion for technology who want to work with a world-class team. You will play a key role in helping architect, build and improve infrastructure for our games in AWS.

You will be especially focused on maintaining our containerization processes that support our single-tenant and multi-tenant Kubernetes/EKS clusters. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about the Kubernetes ecosystem and community including 3rd party and opensource technologies in the CNCF landscape and eager to learn how Zynga manages Kubernetes upgrades and infrastructure add-ons.

What You'll do :

  • Provision, improve and maintain Kubernetes clusters hosting core live services and games

  • Write tech plans and perform upgrades of Kubernetes and add-ons across production clusters

  • Optimize existing tech stack to influence reliability, scalability, security and to lower cost

  • Create a culture of quality with a product-focused and platform approach

  • Follow engineering best practices to ensure code quality, performance and reliability

  • Work collaboratively across teams to understand product/customer requirements and propose technical solutions

  • Provide production & integration support for shared technology across Zynga games

  • Participate in on-call backed by a team of experienced engineers and SRE as first-line responders

  • Mentor Software Engineers and assist with their technical growth

What you Bring:

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Game Development, or equivalent OR similar training in a technical bootcamp. We are open to non-traditional backgrounds for cloud career paths.

  • 3+ years of hands-on software development experience

  • Curious to gain professional-level knowledge in administrating, monitoring, and extending Kubernetes clusters at scale and AWS EKS

  • Experience with production environments in AWS, AKS, or GKE

  • Experience in programming using Golang, Python, and/or other modern programming languages

  • Experience in Shell Scripting, Linux Command Line environments (CLI), & Terraform

  • Experience writing unit, integration, and/or regression tests in at least one language

  • Understanding of algorithms, design patterns, debugging, and performance optimization

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and connect with peers with confidence and clarity

  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently.
