Position Overview

BEES is a B2B commerce platform revolutionizing the route to market for AB InBev and global CPG leaders. With over 2.7 million monthly active retailers across 29 countries, 39 million quarterly orders, and more than 1,000 partners selling products in our marketplace, BEES processes thousands of B2B transactions daily.

The BEES Retail Media and CRM team is seeking a Director, Ads Business Strategy and Development to transform our growing retail media program into a scalable, high-performing platform.

The ideal candidate has deep expertise across a mix of both commercial and technical aspects of auctions, yield management, and ad tech architecture. They bring experience building performant, native inventory supported by dynamic auction systems and can scale solutions across markets and partner types. This leader will also drive expansion beyond BEES’ marketplace inventory (including offsite media), by developing partnerships, while operating effectively in a global, matrixed organization. The role sits within the Commercial team, working closely with dedicated Product and Technology partners.

Key Responsibilities

Auction Strategy and Inventory Development

- Influence auction design, dynamics, and pricing methodologies to ensure profitability and marketplace health.

- Thinking from the lens of our customers, lead the evolution of ad inventory, ensuring performance, scalability, and fit for diverse partner needs.

- Build robust frameworks for testing and optimization across market, advertiser, and inventory levels.

- Continuously refine ad placement and functionality to balance user experience with monetization efficiency.

- Establish data-driven measurement and forecasting frameworks for ongoing performance improvement on behalf of customers.

Ad Product Innovation

- Define and launch new advertising products, including offsite media capabilities.

- Drive the development of scalable, privacy-compliant targeting, delivery, and measurement solutions.

- Partner with cross-functional teams to align product development with business growth objectives.

Infrastructure and Partner Strategy

- Work with the product team to develop a short- and long-term build-versus-partner roadmap for BEES ad tech infrastructure.

- Evaluate technology partners and determine which capabilities to own in-house versus outsource, balancing investment and opportunity sizing.

- Ensure solution scalability, transparency, and integration across global markets.

Education and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

- 10+ years of experience in ad tech, retail media, or large-scale digital platforms, with at least 6 years in business strategy, product strategy, or leadership roles focused on ad systems or monetization infrastructure.

- Proven success designing, implementing, and optimizing real-time bidding (RTB) systems, yield algorithms, or ad delivery pipelines.

- Experience collaborating with Engineering and Data Science teams to define technical roadmaps and experimentation frameworks that support customer and business goals.

- Experience in B2B or marketplace environments strongly preferred.

- Track record of working cross-functionally across Product, Technology, and Commercial teams in global organizations.

Technical and Analytical Skills

- Deep understanding of ad serving, yield optimization, and programmatic ecosystems.

- Strong grasp of demand- and supply-side mechanics (DSPs, SSPs, exchanges, and ad networks).

- Experience with data platforms and analytics tools (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow).

- Expertise in ad measurement, targeting, attribution, and privacy-safe data practices.

- Understanding of identity resolution, forecasting, and experiment design (A/B, incrementality).

- Experience with major ad tech stacks (e.g., Google Ad Manager, The Trade Desk, Criteo, or similar).

- Comfort working with APIs, SDKs, and integration frameworks to scale ad functionality.

Leadership and Communication Skills

- Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing, cross-functional teams.

- Strong executive presence and ability to influence across senior levels and regions.

- Excellent communication and storytelling skills for both technical and commercial audiences.

- Strategic thinker who balances long-term vision with agile execution.

- Proven success operating in fast-moving, global, and matrixed organizations.

- Fluency in English required; conversational Spanish and/or Portuguese strongly preferred.

What We Offer 

Work Location: New York, NY (onsite)

Salary: $192k to $240k
