The team at Advanced Space is leading humanity back to the Moon and pioneering innovative solutions in the space industry. Based in Westminster, Colorado, this team is looking to add a highly motivated and passionate Deputy for Management with 10+ years of aerospace experience including leadership. You would be responsible for overseeing the integration, execution, and closeout of projects from proposal development to project completion. This role ensures that the mission priorities are resourced and executed effectively.

This position is open to U.S. citizens only (U.S. citizens, or lawful permanent residents), as required by applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports project managers by developing enterprise processes, tools, and resource planning needed for the successful execution of projects
  • Develops cost-effective and efficient processes across the engineering organization to optimize project and resource planning, reporting, and forecasting.
  • Serves as the primary liaison between the engineering function and business development, ensuring proposals are staffed, scoped, and scheduled to reflect realistic technical execution plans.
  • Supports recruiting, retention, training, and succession planning
  • Drives improvements in engineering workflows, systems integration and project management processes, and streamlines cross-functional coordination between business development and engineering.
  • Monitors portfolio-level project health by establishing and maintaining key metrics for schedule, cost, and technical performance across active programs, and escalating risks to the Director of Engineering as appropriate.
  • Leads the development and continuous improvement of the Engineering organization’s Earned Value Management (EVM) or comparable project performance reporting practices.
  • Builds and maintains a resource management framework that enables the engineering function to balance current program execution with pipeline demand, identifying shortfalls or surpluses ahead of decision points.
  • Acts as the direct supervisor and lead for the engineering technical area leads, ensuring consistent application of engineering standards, removing organizational barriers to execution, while fostering a high-performing engineering culture aligned with Advanced Space’s core values and mission priorities.

Requirements:

  • B.S. in Project Management or related degree or related Masters Degree Preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience – combination of aerospace and leadership
  • Extensive experience in aerospace engineering, mission operations, project/program management, or technical operations leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in complex and dynamic environments
  • Strong skills in budget management, organizational strategy, and operational execution
  • Demonstrates technical expertise and understanding of program management principles, concepts, and best practices; PMP certification is desired.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to enable transparent and effective communication across company departments
  • Proficient knowledge and experience in creating Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for all program phases of the business cycle from proposals to program executions using tools like MS Project and Jira.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with demanding customers, difficult schedules, and technically challenging projects.
  • Must be able to develop solutions to problems that require coordination of multiple diverse inputs from stakeholders across program requirements.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • This is an IMMEDIATE hiring need.  
  • Ability to work in the Westminster, CO office 5 days/week during core business hours.
  • Applicants must be a US Citizen
  • Top Secret Security Clearance preferred

Compensation and benefits:

  • Base salary range - $150,000 - $190,000 based on role and employee experience.
  • Signing bonus.
