Arrears Operations Specialist
As a Arrear Operations Specialist based in Amsterdam, you will join a newly formed team of professionals that evaluates and manages credit risk coming forth from Adyen’s growing suite of credit risk products. The team plays a critical role in developing and operating the arrears operations framework for (new) embedded financial products (e.g. Adyen Capital - Merchant Loans, Cash Advances). In close collaboration with Commercial, Product, and Legal teams, you will help scale Adyen’s arrears operations to the next level.

At this moment, the team is still in an early stage, offering ample room for growth in the coming years. We are looking for team players that are highly motivated, extremely innovative, and who take ownership and full control over their own workflows. As we operate globally, the team is part of an international team with diverse backgrounds and skill sets. 

Our ideal candidate has a strong problem solving mindset, is a great communicator and has in-depth knowledge to formulate strategic recommendations on policies, procedures and practices regarding arrears management.

What you’ll do

  • Monitor and manage accounts in arrears across different financial products (e.g. SME loans and other financial products offered to enterprise businesses), implementing effective arrears management strategies to minimize losses
  • Operate arrears procedures including write-offs, exception bookings, working with debt collection agencies and account termination procedures, while also refining and enhancing existing processes drawing on past experience
  • Work closely with our customers in arrears to negotiate suitable repayment solutions for them (e.g. forbearance measures or special repayment plans), while ensuring legal and regulatory compliance
  • Work with our credit underwriting analysts by informing them on trends in arrears management to improve the underwriting criteria
  • Define new scalable and effective arrears operational policies and procedures in close collaboration with Product, Legal and Compliance for our different financial products;
  • Report regularly to senior management about the effectiveness of arrears management procedures, identify problems and provide solutions
  • Clearly explain Adyen’s arrears management practices to internal and external stakeholders, including regulators

Who you are

  • You have a strong track record in arrears management within the financial/banking industry (3+ years) for different type of companies (strong plus for SMEs) and financial products
  • You are familiar with the legal and regulatory framework for arrears management on financial products
  • You are innovative, with strong problem-solving skills and able to define efficient and effective processes and procedures
  • You effectively work with customers and colleagues across cultures and time zones
  • You thrive in a dynamic environment, challenging the status-quo and ‘can-do’ mentality
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • You speak fluently English, any other languages is a strong plus
  • University degree preferred in business law or finance
