Business Development Representative, Shanghai
This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the Sales and Marketing teams in Adyen China. As an BDR, you will have the opportunity to accelerate your career by working with multiple business units in a globally recognized fintech organization. You’ll be working with sales managers, marketing and partnerships to create new business opportunities and deliver key insights on the payments sector to the business. This role is extremely diverse requiring strong interpersonal skills, a self-starter mentality, an inquisitive and analytical mindset, project management skills and a great sense of humor.
What you’ll do:
- Take full ownership of both inbound and outbound lead generation efforts, ensuring a steady pipeline of qualified opportunities. Manage the entire lead lifecycle, from initial engagement to qualification and handoff to the sales team.
- Provide actionable feedback to the marketing team regarding the quality and relevance of leads, helping to optimize campaigns and targeting strategies.
- Develop and manage relationships with partners who can generate potential leads, ensuring alignment and maximizing lead flow from external sources.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and market shifts to inform the sales and marketing teams of emerging opportunities and challenges.
- Collaborate closely with the sales team to ensure seamless handoff of qualified leads and alignment on market opportunities.
- Track, analyze, and report on lead generation performance and market insights to continuously improve efforts.
- Commit to continuous learning on the payments sector and Adyen product offerings
Who you are:
- 3+ years of business development experience, preferably in a BDR / SDR / Sales position where you successfully drive growth, generate leads, and enable client acquisition/engagement for Chinese business going overseas.
- Proven ability to work closely with marketing teams, providing feedback on lead quality and collaborating on strategies to optimize campaigns.
- Strong understanding of the Chinese tech industry (e-commerce, digital natives, gaming) and experience with companies expanding internationally.
- Commercially driven, with a track record of achieving targets while fostering collaboration within the team.
- Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills across written, phone, and in-person interactions.
- Adept at networking and identifying new business opportunities.
- Familiarity with tools like Salesforce, SimilarWeb, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator is a plus.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage time and multitask effectively
