Financial Products
As the team lead for Financial Products, you will build, mentor, and coach a diverse, talented team. Your team will focus on our Balance Transactions team, who own the technology behind our Issuing and Adyen for Platforms products.
You are comfortable streamlining the team's engineering operations, refining product requirements together with product and merchants and encouraging effective collaboration. As a critical role in the continued success of our fast-paced organization, you will help to iterate our culture and build an amazing team environment that will create future leaders for Adyen.
What you’ll do
- Collaborate cross-functionally with design, product, data engineers, engineers and other key stakeholders within Financial Products.
- Structure and provide coaching in areas including but not limited to: engineering best practices, scalable architecture design, product roadmap discussions.
- Maintain an inclusive team culture focused on autonomy, ownership, collaboration, communication, and impact.
- Collaborate with different teams to design and implement new services with reliability & scalability in mind.
- Set clear individual and team goals that align with our strategic engineering ambitions in close collaboration with the product manager.
- Create an inspiring and collaborative team environment with an open communication/feedback culture.
- Recruit new team members in line with the Adyen culture and required skills.
- Maintain an inclusive team culture focused on autonomy, ownership, collaboration, communication, and impact.
Who you are
- You have 2+ years of experience in people management responsibilities and a proven track record of leading high-performing engineering teams.
- You bring a strong foundation and at least 7 years in software engineering, with deep system design skills and hands-on experience in technologies such as Java, Postgres, Kafka, RabbitMQ, and Redis.
- You think strategically, are able to connect business goals with technical execution, and design systems that scale with the company.
- You’re a clear communicator and influencer in English, comfortable navigating cross-functional dynamics and driving alignment.
- You’re proactive and self-driven, with a natural ability to identify what needs to be done, even in unstructured environments, through collaboration and critical thinking.
- You’re energized by complexity and curious about the mechanics of financial systems.
- You are able to challenge constructively, foster collaboration, and drive engagement.
- You come from a high-paced, product-oriented environment.

Please note that this role is a full-time hybrid position in Madrid. It will require a relocation in case you live outside of Spain.
