Facilities Operations & Expansion Manager

Agile Space Industries, Inc. (AGILE) designs, builds, and tests in-space propulsion systems for satellites and spacecraft. AGILE uses state of the art 3D metal alloy printing techniques to rapidly design, manufacture, and test new engine designs in our purpose-built propulsion test facility. With over a decade of experience testing rocket engines, and engineers who have worked at industry leaders like Blue Origin, SpaceX, NASA, and Aerojet Rocketdyne, AGILE is a rapidly growing company with many exciting Defense, Civil and Commercial programs.

AGILE is headquartered in Durango, CO with a facility in Mount Pleasant, PA and growing presence in Tulsa, OK. 

Agile Space Industries is seeking a Facilities Operations & Expansion Manager onsite in Durango, CO to oversee the expansion and operation of our facilities while ensuring a safe, compliant, and reliable workplace. This role combines responsibility for site growth and infrastructure management with leadership in safety, security, health, and environmental programs (SSHE) to support business continuity and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Facilities Expansion and Growth

  • Guide planning, site selection, and build-out of new facilities and expansions
  • Coordinate design, construction, and commissioning with contractors, architects, and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements
  • Develop long-term facilities master plans to align with company growth strategy

Operational Oversight and Maintenance

  • Manage daily operation of existing facilities including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, utilities, and security systems
  • Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to ensure reliability of assets
  • Manage vendor and contractor relationships including contracts, service agreements, and performance
  • Oversee space utilization planning, emergency systems testing, and business continuity readiness

Safety, Security, Health, and Environment (SSHE)

  • Evaluate, develop, implement, and uphold facilities related SSHE policies, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulations
  • Engage with regulatory bodies to ensure building permitting, fire and hazardous management plans are coordinated with local agencies and responders.
  • Lead facility safety training, emergency drills, and employee engagement in workplace safety culture
  • Ensure physical security of facilities including access control and incident response

Team Development and Budget Management

  • Guide and mentor facilities, maintenance, and safety staff to foster a culture of accountability and excellence
  • Develop and manage capital and operating budgets for facilities initiatives
  • Prepare reports and metrics for leadership on facility performance, safety, incidents, and compliance status

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in facilities management and/or operations leadership, preferably in industrial, manufacturing, or R&D environments.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Experience with facility expansion, construction project management, and building systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to build a proactive safety and compliance culture.
  • Certifications (preferred): Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or similar.

Prolonged periods of standing, sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Employment Type: Exempt

The expected salary range for this role is $110,000-$130,000 annually. Final compensation will be based on factors such as experience, skills, and internal equity, and is typically made within the midrange, rather than the upper end.

Work Schedule: Full Time

Location: Durango
