Description:
Working in CATIA V5/V6 to design and model fixturing used for holding vehicle parts during processes such as weld, paint, assembly, and test. Understanding body part construction, datums, and weld information to incorporate into fixture design. Preform layout checks with all users involved to confirm fixtures meet all requirements. Export 3D/2D data and outsource to a supplier for quotes and ordering. Research ways fixturing or processes can be improved. Support any other request for fixturing, test equipment, or prototyping needs in the company. Support development groups such as Interior Design by creating data for evaluation models and Aerodynamic teams by designing wind tunnel test models.
Qualifications/Experience/Skills: BS degree in science / engineering preferred or equivalent.
Minimum Experience: 3 years in related design work experience Job-Specific Skills: Advanced CATIA V5/V6 operation, High attention to detail, excellent communication skills, problem solving skills, knowledge of vehicle construction/assembly, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing, Basic electrical and mechanical skills, proficient with Microsoft Office software (Teams, Outlook, Power Point, Excel, Word)
