Data Analyst III, P&C Operations

This role is focused on supporting and collaborating with all areas within P&C Operations (i.e., Underwriting, Product, Actuarial, Claims, ML Agencies, SMG, Marketing) to deliver analytic solutions that enable the business to make data-based decisions. This role’s responsibility includes performing data analysis (e.g., conceptualization, modeling, and presentation of data) and developing methods to efficiently capture, manage, and analyze data.
What You’ll Do
- Works with stakeholders from various business areas to translate their data needs and goals by understanding data structures, determining data definitions, gathering data requirements, analyzing business processes, and evaluating the accuracy of data elements and metrics with minimal guidance.
- Develops dashboards (e.g., PowerBI), reports, and spreadsheets for use throughout P&C Operations using the tools, standards, and platforms in use at the time with minimal guidance.
- Develops SQL queries to extract and manipulate data and build data processes to validate reports and dashboards with minimal guidance.
- Develops and maintains methods to distribute management information, as appropriate, throughout P&C Operations using tools, standards, and platforms in use at the time with minimal guidance.
- Performs quality assurance checks to validate for completeness and accuracy of data and/or deliverables for release with minimal guidance.
- Documents, updates, and utilizes the policies, procedures, and processes used throughout P&C
- Operations.
- Responds to support questions promptly, courteously, and accurately, with an analysis of the results and any issues or changes made with minimal guidance.
- Reviews policies, procedures, and process created or updated by the Data Analyst I and II.
- Validates the less complex queries, reports, and dashboards developed by the Data Analyst I and II for accuracy and quality.
- Translates findings into and written summaries visuals and written summaries for non-technical audiences, providing a clear view into interpreting the data.
- Participates in cross functional working groups.
- Identifies data errors and works with the appropriate stakeholders to correct the errors timely with minimal guidance.
- Ensures the data produced remains secure, respecting corporate privacy and security procedures.
- Assists with trainings for stakeholder in areas such as proper data usage, SQL, or PowerBI.
- Acts as a delegate for their supervisor or manager, when appropriate, with minimal guidance.
- Acts as a mentor to others with minimal guidance from their supervisor or manager.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor's degree.
- Four to six years of experience.
- Additional Qualifications:
- Equivalent work experience in a business or technical environment will be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
- Must have strong communication and people skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Excel, Access)
- Proficient with data visualization tools (i.e., PowerBI, Tableau) using graphs, charts, map features.
What Will Set You Apart
- Prior experience with Microsoft Fabric
- Indirect leadership experience, to include training, mentoring and influencing organizational systems
