American National is seeking a full-time, accountant. What You’ll Do

Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management and Board of Directors

Prepare various reports and footnotes under basic accounting standards and statutory accounting

Perform monthly close activities including journal entries and account reconciliations

Safeguard accounting internal controls compliance

What You’ll Need

Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or Finance (Preferred) Equivalent industry work experience with two-year degree in accounting considered

Experience in financial reporting, preparation, and analysis

Performed functions of the monthly, quarterly, and year end close process (Comfortable operating in a deadline driven work environment)

Understanding of GAAP and/or STAT accounting principals

Ability to work hours outside of normal business operations during peak periods that may include weekends (With notice)

What Will Set You Apart

Three years’ + work experience in accounting

Insurance background

Public accounting background

Applicable industry designations/certifications/trainings

Experience in Workiva, Wings, and SAP. platforms
