Art Director (Project Based)
We are seeking a highly creative and strategic Art Director with a strong background in fashion and luxury branding. The ideal candidate is a visionary storyteller with a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of brand identity, and a proven ability to translate business objectives into compelling visual narratives.
You should have a strong design sensibility, trend awareness, and expertise in photography, film, and digital media, with the ability to lead and mentor a creative team to produce best-in-class work. A deep knowledge of branding, typography, layout, and visual storytelling is essential, along with the ability to push creative boundaries while maintaining brand consistency.
This role is based in Paris, while overseeing and collaborating with creative team members across the globe, including Shanghai, Los Angeles, New York, and Paris. You'll be expected to manage and guide a diverse, international team to ensure cohesive and innovative creative output.
This role reports to the Creative Director.
Responsibilities:
- Define and evolve brand and seasonal creative direction across all touchpoints, ensuring a cohesive and forward-thinking visual identity.
- Maintain brand consistency while driving innovation, continuously refining brand guidelines to balance heritage with creative evolution.
- Develop and execute compelling print, web, and social marketing assets, including newsletters, site banners, social content, and other branded assets.
- Lead and mentor the creative team, ensuring alignment with brand standards while fostering innovation and excellence in execution.
- Conceptualize and direct photography and film productions, from casting and pre-production to on-set art direction and post-production, ensuring alignment with brand image and marketing strategy.
- Oversee all aspects of image and video post-production, including selects, retouching feedback, and final asset delivery.
- Partner with Brand Marketing to develop high-impact campaigns that align with strategic objectives, supporting Ecommerce, Retail, Wholesale, and Executive initiatives.
- Stay ahead of fashion, design, and visual trends, ensuring the brand remains relevant and culturally resonant.
- Define and refine the creative strategy, aligning the brand’s visual direction with overarching business goals.
- Leverage technology and innovation, integrating new design tools, AI, and digital advancements to enhance creative execution and efficiency.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in art direction, brand design, or creative leadership within the fashion or luxury industry.
- A strong portfolio showcasing brand-building campaigns, editorial work, photography direction, and digital design.
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and familiarity with motion design, video editing, and emerging digital tools.
- Experience in leading creative teams and managing high-profile campaigns from concept to execution.
- A strong understanding of fashion, design, and cultural trends, with the ability to translate them into relevant and innovative creative solutions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate creative vision to stakeholders at all levels.
- Fluent in English and French.
