About the team

The Auctane Strategy & Insights team is responsible for delivering accurate data on business performance & actionable insights to partners across the Auctane e-commerce products, our parent company (Stamps.com), and external partners.  These responsibilities are delivered through the definition & refinement of the company’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), setting goals against these KPIs, measuring performance against these goals, and recommending (and, when applicable, implementing) actions to drive improved performance. Also, the Strategy & Insights team partners with stakeholders from across the business to guide strategic planning and decisions through the use of external market research and trends from the analysis of internal data.

About the role

Auctane is looking for a Product Analyst to join our growing analytics team. As a Product Analyst you will help to ensure that the business is making data driven decisions during all aspects of the product life cycle. You will work closely with designers, product managers, and engineers. The Data, Insights, and Pricing team is responsible for delivering accurate data on business performance & actionable insights to partners across the Auctane e-commerce products and external partners. These responsibilities are delivered through the definition & refinement of the company’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), setting goals against these KPIs, measuring performance against these goals, and recommending (and, when applicable, implementing) actions to drive improved performance. The Strategy & Insights team partners with stakeholders from across the business to guide strategic planning and decisions through the use of external market research and trends from the analysis of internal data. 

What will you be doing?

  • Embed with product teams as a trusted partner, uncovering new ways to improve the product and drive growth
  • Support a data-driven product development culture by driving the definition, tracking, and operationalizing of user product analytics tied to company-level metrics
  • Create easy-to-interpret analysis and visuals, summarizing actionable findings in detail and engaging stakeholders enough to consider your data-backed insights
  • Plan, develop, and own our rapidly growing user product analytics function

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in a quantitative role navigating highly ambiguous environments, ideally as a product analyst at an enterprise software company or strategic insights organization
  • Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries, optimization techniques, and data manipulation
  • Excellent communication skills with the demonstrated ability to communicate with product managers, designers, engineers, and stakeholders alike
  • Experience in defining, implementing, and operationalizing new feature and product-level metrics from scratch
  • Provided strategic product insights that extend beyond standard statistical analysis

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Business acumen is required - understanding the levers to pull to produce growth and associated risks.
  • Strategic Bias - weighing scale vs. expediency, and can identify opportunities and risks within existing systems.
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate results and insights to management and directors.
  • Able to effectively combine quantitative data and qualitative information to communicate the “So What” of a situation to drive actionable insights.
  • Passion for customers and interest in eCommerce.

What will make you stand out?

  • A solid, demonstrable understanding of Google’s Cloud Platform, Customer Data Platforms (Segment), and LookML
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and distill findings into actionable insights
  • An ability to make progress at a fast pace, carrying others along with you in an environment with multiple opinionated stakeholders
