Barbaricum is seeking a Senior Military Operations Analyst to support The U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) G-2. The U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) is seeking a highly skilled professional to conduct independent critical analysis and Red Teaming support. This role is vital in identifying DOTMLPF (Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership & Education, Personnel, and Facilities) weaknesses, vulnerabilities, and gaps while challenging assumptions, hypotheses, and premises used in concepts, doctrine, organizational designs, experiments, and future requirements.
As a Senior Military Operations Analyst, you will be part of a structured and iterative process, working alongside highly trained, educated, and experienced professionals. Your insights will provide commanders with an independent capability to explore alternative solutions, evaluate operational plans, and enhance decision-making processes. This role requires critical thinking, analytical expertise, and the ability to challenge conventional perspectives to strengthen TRADOC’s strategic initiatives and operational effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
- Perform mission analyses to scope critical review requests.
- Review and edit strategic documents to identify and address DOTMLPF gaps and disconnects.
- Provide quick-turnaround reviews of short products (e.g., white papers, directives) within five workdays.
- Deliver independent, detailed reviews of large-scale projects (e.g., experiments, war games) that challenge assumptions, solutions, and structure.
- Present findings and recommendations via briefings and edited documents.
- Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and work groups to provide alternative perspectives and solutions.
- Conduct research, develop surveys, and identify issues or gaps to propose innovative solutions.
- Create detailed written outputs, including observations, insights, briefings, and reports.
- Attend 95% of relevant meetings fully prepared to challenge assumptions, processes, and conclusions.
- Conduct independent fact-finding and informal assessments to inform decision-making.
- Deliver outputs such as organizational studies, restructuring efforts, and audit support.
- Maintain a comprehensive library of resources used during analysis to justify conclusions or recommendations.
- Limited travel (<10%) based on mission requirements.
Qualifications:
- Active DoD Secret Clearance.
- 12-15 years of experience.
- Military experience.
- Proven experience in conducting critical reviews, red teaming, or strategic analysis.
- Ability to identify and analyze DOTMLPF weaknesses, gaps, and assumptions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to deliver clear briefings, reports, and edited products.
- Proficiency in facilitating discussions, providing alternative perspectives, and influencing decision-making processes.
Preferred:
- PhD preferred, War College.
- Experience working within the Department of Defense or TRADOC environment.
- Familiarity with organizational design, experiments, and war-gaming methodologies.
