JOB SUMMARY
The Accountant II supports the balance sheet and general ledger while seeking out opportunities for process improvement while ensuring GAAP compliance. The ideal candidate will be the key liaison between finance and the business reviewing and evaluating contractual obligations for appropriate financial treatment specific to royalties, rebates, and consignment focused on Corporate and Sport brand licenses. We are looking for a strong analytical mindset that focuses on business process improvements who can work cross functionally. The successful candidate is able to understand and communicate effectively to business partners to drive process changes that align with ERP system capabilities. The Accountant II will also participate in financial statement close process, financial audits, and other general accounting roles.
Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Required, CPA preferred but not required
- 5+ years accounting experience with progressively increased responsibility and complexity in a company of $500M or greater, preferably in the merchandise branding industry
- International experience is a plus, specifically in UK, France, and Germany. Includes experience with multiple entities, foreign transactions, multiple currencies, and non-US accounting standards
- Have knowledgeable adherence to accounting principles and policies; review and suggestions for if needed
- Experience with Oracle EBS preferred or similar major ERP system
- Strong Microsoft Office Excel skills (advanced formulas a plus)
- Exposure to financial system tools such as Blackline, Hyperion/Smartview, Tableau

Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in financial close process, including but not limited to preparation of month-end journal entries and reconciliations
- Assist in margin analytics focused on contractual obligations
- Responsible for calculation and review of contractual obligation payments as well as tracking of minimum guarantees and ensuring they are paid in accordance with existing contractual due dates
- Assist in reviewing contract renewals, amendments, and new agreements from a financial and business operations perspective as well as day to day contract management
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure that the company has appropriate processes and procedures to adhere to the contract terms and deadlines. Ability to understand if our existing ERP system can manage the requirements.
- Adapt to new tasks and responsibilities as the business grows and changes
- Assist in financial and statutory audit preparation
- Completes special projects as assigned
- Assist other teams as necessary to assure timely accounting processes.
