Why Box needs you:
Many of the world’s largest enterprises rely on Box to securely store their content, and we are helping to unlock the potential of their content through the development of additional core capabilities, like Box Relay. Our products save users time and deliver results in consistent manner. We are expanding Relay with new features and integrations, including AI-driven automation powered by our Agentic platform, building an orchestration platform to drive business workflows for Box and serving as automation hub to power automations outside of Relay.
As our team in Poland continues to grow and take on building new product, we are looking for a seasoned engineer who can own large components of the system and work independently. In this role, your work will impact millions of users, who use Relay to get their work done on a daily basis, you will own large components of the system, work independently, and directly impact how users streamline their daily workflows worldwide.
Who you are:
- Ideally, you have over 2 years of experience as a software engineering manager, leading teams responsible for high-scale production services.
- You possess at least 5 years of professional software development experience, contributing to the development of full-stack web applications and/or distributed systems.
- You excel at aligning and executing new technical ideas, demonstrating an understanding of best practices.
- Proven experience in driving effective execution with agile processes in a dynamic environment.
- A people-oriented leader, capable of modelling and fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.
- Exceptional at communicating, passionate about technology and committed to raising the bar.
- Experience working with distributed teams across different time zones is advantageous.
- Proficient in English.
Bonus Points:
- Hands-on experience designing and building cloud-native architecture for AWS, GCP, or similar.
- Passion for open source and staying abreast of community developments.

Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of experienced engineers in Poland.
- Define the team's roadmap, execution plans, and take ownership of project delivery.
- Develop team members through 1:1s, career planning, coaching discussions, and hiring.
- Uphold values by building a collaborative, inclusive team focused on customer impact.
- Cultivate a culture of excellence through emphasis on execution, quality, and scale.
- Organize stand-ups, sprint planning, technical discussions, and manage sprint task statuses.
- Collaborate with product teams to scope new features, provide project estimates, and inform quarterly commitments.
- Work with cross-functional partners and stakeholders to ensure the team delivers significant business impact.
- Represent Box internally and externally.
- Manage and coordinate the team’s on-call rotation to ensure timely and effective incident response, actively participate in escalated on-call incidents to provide leadership and support, and drive improvements by addressing recurring issues to minimize disruptions.
