Why Box needs you:

As a Fullstack Engineer III, you will be a part of the team developing and maintaining the Box AI Studio. You will be involved in architectural discussions, defining, and consulting technical initiatives related with feature development and refactor. You will also be responsible for implementation of end-to-end solutions. Technologies involved will be JavaScript/TypeScript (React 18) and Java (Spring Boot), experience with GraphQL will also be a big advantage. AI Studio is a new initiative at Box to meet high expectations of our users and let them customize their Box AI experience. Since all AI features are highly demanded and visible features of Box platform, we need your help in keeping their availability on 99.99% level. As a member of the team, you will closely collaborate with Engineers and Architects on creating and implementing decided solutions.

What you'll do:

  • You'll be a part of the team to build, improve and support Box AI Studio.

  • Get to work with cutting-edge technologies that are defining the future of the cloud.

  • Team up with other engineers to foster solid engineering principles and represent our engineering values.

  • Utilize both your technical and interpersonal skills to lead large scale projects to completion.

  • Collaborate, influence and drive for improvement across scrum teams.

  • Model solid engineering practices around architectural design, testability, scalability and maintainability.

  • Partner with product managers, designers and other cross-functional stakeholders to align on requirements and understand how your work will impact the business.

  • Participate in our on-call rotation, available at all times while on-call to help respond to and triage any issues that arise.

Who you are: 

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience in Java and React.

  • Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, software design principles, and object-oriented programming.

  • Review and assess the technical feasibility of project requirements and propose innovative solutions.

  • Share knowledge with the team on best practices and coding standards, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.

  • Actively engage in feedback processes, contribute to code reviews, and play a role in enhancing team processes and practices.

  • Must speak English proficiently.

Preferred skills: 

  • Familiarity with GraphQL concepts, how it relates to REST. Experience with Apollo GraphQL is a big advantage.

  • Experience with public cloud systems such as GCP, AWS or Azure.
