WHY BOX NEEDS YOU? 

As a Senior Software Engineer at Box, you will be a part of the team maintaining and developing the web platform. You will be involved in initiatives leveraging up the platform capabilities. That will involve driving architectural discussions, defining and consulting frontend initiatives related with feature development and refactor. You will also be responsible for development of end to end solutions. Technologies involved will be JS (React/Redux/Node), TypeScript and node.js . Since the team’s responsibility is around the core frontend platform of Box, we need your help in keeping its availability on 99.99% level. As a member of the team you will closely collaborate with Engineers and Architects on creating and implementing decided solutions. We are the team and we need our team player skills to leverage the synergy of the team to blow our customers minds

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Build and maintain core web platform capabilities that power Box’s enterprise experiences
• Lead and influence architectural decisions and frontend standards to improve reliability, performance, and developer experience
• Modernize and refactor legacy codebases, applying strong testing practices and performance optimization
• Collaborate with teams across Poland and the US to plan, execute, and de-risk quarterly objectives
• Partner with cross-functional teams to onboard, share knowledge, and align on current responsibilities and priorities
• Participate in regular team meetings and manager 1:1s to ensure alignment, growth, and continuous improvement
• Create clear technical documentation, reusable patterns, and examples to scale knowledge across engineering teams
• Leverage AI tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor) to accelerate development, research, documentation, and bug triage while maintaining high standards of quality and security
• Represent and advocate for Box Poland’s engineering excellence both internally and externally
• Maintain and support one or more legacy codebases
• Contribute to defining and implementing engineering standards across product teams
• Participate in our on-call rotation, available at all times while on-call to help respond to and triage any issues that arise.

WHO YOU ARE:

• You have 5+ years of professional software development experience
• You have experience with TypeScript, JavaScript and React
• You have experience with Node.js for backend
• You have experience immproving legacy codebases
• You speak English proficiently
• You are oriented for solving problems regardless of technology

Percentage of Time Spent:

• 30% coding with AI
• 20% R&D with AI
• 15% documentation with AI
• 10% bug fixes with AI
• 25% meetings
