In This Role
You will join a dynamic Quality Assurance team focused on ensuring a high-quality, educational gaming experience for students, teachers, and administrators. This role emphasizes manual testing and customer advocacy, helping to identify and report issues, validate fixes, and ensure new features meet the intended experience. You will collaborate with content developers, support teams, and engineers to test across multiple platforms, analyze risks, and represent the voice of quality in all testing scenarios. Agility, adaptability, and a passion for the game and educational experiences are key to success.
Responsibilities

Execute test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures for new features and system modifications.

Validate compliance, functionality, and user experience of educational content and game features.

Collaborate with support teams to reproduce reported issues and provide actionable feedback.

Analyze and document software defects using a bug tracking system; monitor bug resolution progress.

Conduct root cause analysis and assess risk for new and modified features.

Maintain databases of known test defects and provide insights to improve testing processes.

Assist stakeholders with test requests and provide coverage confidence in areas being assessed.

Test across hardware platforms and different user scenarios to ensure quality and accessibility.
Qualifications (Required)

Associate’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or a related area.

2–4 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance.

Experience writing test documentation, including test plans, scripts, and test results reports.

Ability to analyze and interpret test results, providing actionable recommendations for improvement.

Familiarity with manual testing processes and software defect tracking.
Preferred Qualifications

Hands-on experience with the base game (Minecraft) or similar gaming platforms.

Experience in education, teaching, or working with educational content and tools.

Ability to adapt quickly to new features and changing priorities.

Understanding of gameplay mechanics, user interface, accessibility, networking, and multiplayer environments.
Salary Range
Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors including, without limitation, skill sets, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographical market. The pay range for this position reflects geographic based ranges for Washington state: $11 - $12 USD/hourly. The salary/wage and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
