Insight Consultant (Associate)

 

Opportunity

Brunswick Group is seeking an Insight Consultant (Associate) to join our Insight team to drive its media analytics research offer in Washington, D.C., or New York. Reporting to the Global Head of Analytics in London, you will play a key role in scoping, delivering and presenting research to clients, as well as championing the use of analytics and developing the offer to clients. Extensive experience using SaaS digital listening tools including Brandwatch, Quid, Talkwalker, NewsWhip, etc, is required, as is the ability to extract meaning from the data to draw useful conclusions and help develop actionable recommendations.

You are:

  • An experienced professional, well-versed in the global traditional and social media landscape, and with advanced experience with media analytic tools
  • Interested in corporate news and communications, with an understanding of the traditional and social media landscape
  • A strong communicator who can represent findings and recommendations to non-technical audiences in a clear and engaging manner
  • Comfortable working as part of a global team and managing/developing internal and external relationships
  • Perceptive and empathetic, with the ability to manage up, down, and across
  • Motivated, collaborative and intellectually curious, with a passion for innovation, and finding solutions to tricky problems
  • Able to practice discretion with confidential client matters
  • Attentive to detail and run your projects efficiently and effectively
  • Proactive, and can adapt quickly to change, with a sense of humor


You will:

  • Manage social listening and media analysis projects for clients in the US, identifying key business questions and objectives, scoping and framing research project plans and leveraging the right tools and techniques
  • Take accountability for project logistics end to end to ensure on-time and on-budget work streams and deliverables
  • Promote media analytics within the US offices to build awareness of what the practice can offer to support new and existing clients
  • Develop training programs to grow media analytics skills, in collaboration with Global Head of Analytics
  • In addition to developing more formal training programs, offer junior colleagues frequent feedback and coaching
  • Push analytics forward by identifying innovative solutions
  • Build close relationships with clients and colleagues, as a trusted partner and advisor


You have:

  • 6+ years of experience in traditional and social media analytics, with some research agency or consultancy experience
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate client needs into actionable plans, conduct data analysis and interpretation, and identify key findings and recommendations
  • Extensive experience using SaaS digital listening tools, including Brandwatch, Quid, Talkwalker, NewsWhip
  • Strong writing skills; the ability to summarize complex data into succinct findings and implications
  • Client management experience, including developing and pitching for new business
  • An understanding of corporate and financial communications, and interest in the financial, political and social issues companies are dealing with
  • Advanced project management skills, and can monitor team, identify and address issues/problems in the research process, and deliver effectively in time-compressed circumstances
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to understand client needs, analyze social listening data, and independently draft impactful client deliverables that inform recommendations
  • Intermediate/advanced level proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint (Pivot tables, XLOOKUP, etc)
  • (Optional) Experience with data analysis tools (Python, Stata, R, Tableau, etc)

Compensation

The applicant who is selected for this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits: 


In New York City, the range of base compensation will be: $130,000 - $170,000.

If an offer is extended to an applicant in New York City, the applicant will be paid in line with this range and based on the applicant’s experience and qualifications. This range applies only to the New York City position, and salaries in other offices and regions will vary based on an applicant’s experience and qualifications, as well as the competitive landscape.

Bonus Eligibility: Annual discretionary bonus contingent upon individual performance and the overall performance of the Firm.
