Job Purpose:
BTIG seeks an investment banking professional at the Associate level to join the Energy, Transportation and Infrastructure (EIT) team in New York.  Associates are involved in all facets of BTIG's investment banking activities, including equity and debt, public and private market offerings, merger and acquisition advisory, and other investment banking advisory services. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the potential to take on a significant role in deal execution by providing day-to-day support to senior bankers and clients while also providing professional guidance to junior team members. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide transaction support to senior EIT bankers on a broad range of transactions across the firm’s platform: equity products include IPOs, registered follow-ons, PIPEs, block trades, preferred equity and ATMs; debt offerings include high yield, convertible debt and leveraged loans; M&A advisory services include mergers, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, joint ventures, defense, spin‐offs, divestitures and restructurings
  • Create complex analyses for internal and external parties
  • Generate strategic content, including industry analysis and product-specific concepts
  • Coordinate deliverables with coverage team and internal product partners
  • Manage day-to-day project workflows
  • Develop junior talent

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Should have either: (i) an undergraduate degree and 3+ years of investment banking experience; or (ii) an MBA and investment banking experience
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills allowing one to build relationships across a variety of groups
  • Solid work ethic and superior attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as analytical and technical skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple simultaneous project deadlines
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills and proficiency with relevant banking-related databases / applications (Bloomberg, CapIQ, etc.)
  • Series 63 & 79 licensing required
  • Helpful but not required: a background in energy, such as energy banking or consulting, or an undergraduate degree and/or work experience in an energy/engineering field

Compensation: 

  • BTIG offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. Salary range is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, years of applicable experience, skills, qualifications, licensure and certifications, and other business and organization needs.
  • The current estimated base salary range for this role is $170,000.00 - $210,000.00 per year. Please note that certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as discretionary bonus or overtime.
