Commvault is seeking a seasoned Cloud Subject Matter Expert to work alongside Field Chief Technology Officer (CTO) in the Americas region (can be located anywhere in the US). The ideal candidate should have a well-rounded background in understanding of Cloud and Security in Depth with specific knowledge of Cloud native technologies related to data protection. Candidates should have a clear understanding of Hyperscaler offerings and regions, architecture elements, security risks, priorities, regulations, and compliance concepts and have strong command of native architecture, and the processes and procedures required to recover from cloud outage. 

As a Cloud SME and part of the CTO team, you will be expected to understand and communicate with cloud architects about complex cybersecurity concepts serving as an evangelist for the company's products, promoting them to different stakeholders, potential clients, and partners. You will also be expected to provide guidance on cloud best practices and demonstrate how our offerings delivery industry leading cyber resiliency against cloud native offerings and other critical workloads.  Your role will be pivotal in linking the technical aspects to business needs, driving sales and customer satisfaction. 

What you’ll do…

  • Support the sales process with your cloud native expertise, provide demonstrations, answer technical inquiries, and provide insight to those responsible for crafting proposals that meet customer needs. 
  • Analyze and interpret system and network requirements to recommend effective and innovative solutions based on our product offerings. 
  • Assess and explain complex cybersecurity risks to clients, highlighting how our software solutions can address their security needs. 
  • Stay well-informed of the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and governing changes, ensuring our offerings remain relevant, compliant, and competitive. 
  • Interface with CISOs and cloud architects and confidently position the value of Commvault cyber resiliency solutions. 
  • Consult with customers on cloud architecture and cyber resiliency best practices and help them build reliable and repeatable recovery plans with help of CI/CD or outside of one public cloud. 
  • Act as a product evangelist, representing our company's solutions to potential clients, stakeholders, and at industry events. 
  • Actively engage in internal collaboration with leadership, sales, and development teams, fostering an enhanced understanding of the dynamic landscape of cybersecurity needs and direction, while providing user feedback, market trends, and insights to shape product improvements and the development of new features. 

Who you are…

  • With 15-20 years of experience in a technology-focused role with emphasis on cloud or a bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Advanced degrees are preferred. 
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, IT risk management, and the regulatory landscape. 
  • Thorough understanding of cloud architecture, security requirements, and recovery strategies. 
  • 10+ years of experience in the field working with enterprise customers to define and implement cloud native solution, data center to cloud architecting with security and full recovery strategies. 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to a wide range of audiences. 
  • Proven experience in promoting and demonstrating technology products. 
  • Robust problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and a customer-centric approach. 

Additional Qualifications: 

  • CISSP, CISM, or similar certification. 
  • Experience in Commvault or another backup technology. 
  • Previous experience in a Cloud architect, Field CTO role or a similar deep technical experience involving technical sales support. 
  • Deep knowledge of cloud architectures and database systems and their cybersecurity implications. 
  • Experience in navigating complex enterprise environments and liaising with various stakeholders.

US Pay Range

$166,345 - $292,100 USD
