Director, Initiative Excellence
Weekly outpatient therapy isn't always enough, and a trip to the ER isn't the only answer. Patients and their families rely on Compass Health Center when in crisis – every day, we help people overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely.
About This Role
We're seeking a skilled Director of Initiative Excellence to join our growing team. In this role, you'll lead Lean transformation projects, promote a culture of excellence and ensure continuous improvement efforts across all Compass sites and cross-functional programs. You'll work collaboratively with our leadership and frontline clinicians; playing a vital part in ensuring top-notch patient care and efficient business operations by eliminating waste and improvement of processes.
This position is hybrid with need, at times, to be onsite across all Compass locations to support process improvement work and attend in person meetings. The hours for this role are: Monday-Friday from 9AM-5PM.
What You’ll Do
- Reporting to the Executive Director of Admissions and Operational Excellence, you will work alongside a cross-functional team to lead projects designed to drive our key initiatives forward. You will manage a team of Deployment Leaders who will be assigned to key projects and geared toward a home-site location.
- Lead the implementation of organizational processes for daily monitoring and auditing of process improvement efforts that impact patient flow and clinical operations to amplify successful key initiatives such as Access to Care, Patient and Family Engagement, Optimal Outcomes and Continuity and Excellence.
- Facilitate Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs)/Kaizen Events and support the development and training of other leaders throughout the organization with Lean concepts and tools
- Lead company-wide projects that support the key initiatives and oversee the management of projects by the deployment leaders
- Lead while “managing through influence”—work collaboratively by gaining buy-in and trust from operational and clinical leaders and staff
- Partner with program leaders in creating documentation, tools, and scalable processes to support Compass’s performance surrounding key clinical initiatives
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and proactively challenge existing processes and workflows – suggest and support implementation of necessary changes to optimize performance and quality of care
- Oversee the implementation and ongoing maintenance and improvement of a huddle system across Compass
Who You Are
- Master’s degree in Social Work/Counseling, Business, or Healthcare Administration
- Formal or informal training in Lean or other/similar process improvement methodologies: Rapid Improvement Events/Kaizen, Green Belt Projects, A3, Project Management, etc.
- Experience in clinical operations, statistics, data informed care.
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory/management experience
- Ability to lead change initiatives, manage resistance, and effectively communicate the benefits of Lean transformation across different levels of the organization
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to communicate effectively across various departments within the organization.
- High level of motivation, independence, and teamwork
- Exceptional time management aptitude, highly motivated and dynamic with need to be flexible and adaptable.
- Capability to coach and mentor teams at all levels, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Have the ability to motivate and be part of creating a safe, fun, efficient, positive team-orientated environment
- Comfortable with new technologies
- Strong Excel skills are a must; PowerBI (or other reporting tool) a plus

This range includes multiple career path levels across the organization; where you fall in the range is dependent upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, your years of experience, type of experience, location, and education/certifications. Compass reserves the right to update these ranges.
This role may also be eligible for an annual bonus which is dependent upon individual and company performance.
Compensation
$100,000 - $120,000 USD
