Job Title: Part-Time EHS Advisor (Onsite – Brenham, TX)
Location: Brenham, TX
Schedule: 1 day per week onsite, with potential for full-time in the future
Job Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Advisor to support our manufacturing operations in Brenham, TX. This part-time role is ideal for a seasoned EHS professional who can provide strategic guidance, ensure regulatory compliance, and help drive continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental stewardship. The role requires an onsite presence one day per week, with the possibility of transitioning to a full-time role based on future needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical EHS advisement to address employee safety concerns and support risk management, including evaluation of new equipment, chemicals, and processes.
- Oversee and monitor onsite EHS activities conducted by in-house personnel, including the completion of inspections and routine compliance checks.
- Manage and ensure compliance with environmental regulations including:
- Air, water, and waste compliance
- Hazardous waste license renewals and manifest management
- TCEQ reporting and submissions
- Stormwater and SPCC management
- SARA Title III recordkeeping
- Deliver EHS training programs that meet federal, state, and corporate compliance requirements.
- Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions following incidents or near misses.
- Serve as a key advisor to operations and leadership on safety program effectiveness and improvements.
Required Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS roles within a manufacturing environment.
- Professional certifications strongly preferred, such as:
- CSP (Certified Safety Professional)
- CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist)
- CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager)
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and TCEQ regulatory requirements.
Work Environment & Site Details:
- Onsite presence required one day per week at our Brenham, TX manufacturing facility.
- Facility includes machining, cutting, and material handling operations.
- Approximate headcount: 120 employees across 1st, 2nd, and weekend shifts.
- Candidates must be comfortable navigating an industrial environment and engaging directly with frontline employees and supervisors
- Opportunity for Growth:
- This position is designed as a part-time, contract role, with a strong possibility for expansion to a full-time position as site needs evolve.
