Senior UX Designer - Fixed Term (f/m/d)

About the opportunity

Contentful is looking for a Senior UX Designer to join our Web Experience team on a contract basis until 01/31/26. As a key contributor to our global web presence, you’ll work closely with Marketing, Design, Content and Engineering teams to enhance and optimize our digital experiences. This is an exciting opportunity to drive impactful projects that support Contentful’s growth and engagement with our customers.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in shaping the user experience across our digital touchpoints — with a primary focus on improving our website performance, evolving our design system and driving user-centric improvements through the adoption and implementation of research and insights.

What to expect?

• Develop, maintain and optimize Contentful’s marketing website and digital properties from a UX perspective
• Work in close partnership with designers, content strategists and our SEO team in particular, to define and design experiences that fulfil or surpass user and business expectations
• Create, audit and optimize user journeys, information architecture, navigation and content layout for clarity and conversion
• Grow our design system to meet the evolving needs of our user and business needs
• Create wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity UI layouts, using our design system
• Use data (analytics, heatmaps, session recordings) to inform design iterations and improvements
• Conduct user research (interviews, usability testing, surveys) to uncover insights and validate design decisions
• Leverage research and insights from within the business to inform experimentation and personalization strategies, to drive engaging, performant, experiences
• Use Contentful as a product, to turn your ideas into reality, supporting others to do the same
• Advocate for UX best practices and contribute to a culture of design excellence and collaboration
• Mentor junior members of the team and share knowledge across the organization

What do you need to be successful?

• 8+ years of UX/UI design experience, with a strong portfolio showcasing B2B SaaS or complex web-based products
• Proven experience designing and optimizing marketing websites, delivering measurable performance and results
• Expertise in developing and maintaining scalable design systems
• Advanced proficiency with Figma
• Strong skills in user research, usability testing, and data-informed design
• Experience using analytics, experimentation and personalization tools
• Solid understanding of responsive design, accessibility (WCAG), and cross-platform considerations
• Experience working in cross-functional teams within a fast-paced, agile environment
• Excellent communication and demonstrable collaboration skills; able to work cross-functionally and present ideas effectively
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to balance multiple projects
• Familiarity with headless CMS/ DXP technology and how Contentful works
• Knowledge of the following is a plus:
  • Front-end code, frameworks and modern web technologies
  • SEO best practice, Core Web Vitals and performance optimization
  • Use of AI in day-to-day work, to improve quality, productivity and efficiency across the team
