About the Role & Team:
As a Front-End Developer, your role will span across the Sportsbook Wagering team which involves enhancing and supporting the markets we offer, the bet placement flow, cash out, bet settlement and many other wagering related features. This role involves direct collaboration with our design, product, frontend, and backend development teams to define and deliver first-class sports betting experience. As a company, we are design and UX-focused, we believe in turning complex problems into aesthetically beautiful and simple interfaces. Sportsbook Wagering has high visibility and develops features that have a direct impact on the product and the user experience. We iterate quickly so you have plenty of opportunities to learn & grow technically, but more importantly, we have fun while doing it.
About the Work:
As a key member of Sportsbook Wagering team you will:
- Build front-end applications using modern JavaScript technologies (React, TypeScript).
- Work with the product team to design, architect, and ship customer experience features to our amazing applications.
- Implement polished user interfaces with the help of our design team.
- Improve our code through refactoring and applying modern design patterns.
- Work with other engineers through technical collaboration, discussion, and code review.
- Solve difficult problems related to large data sets and responsive UIs.
- Help our QA team to automate testing and continuous integration.
- Other duties as required
About You:
- Strong understanding of JavaScript, React and general UX Principles
- A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, distributed systems, algorithms and software design.
- Passionate about clean code architecture and software craftsmanship.
- Experience with modern web framework and API development
- Experience with Git and GitHub or similar.
- Knowledge and experience with relational databases; including PostgreSQL and MySQL.
- Comfortable working in the terminal.
- Proficiency within an editor of your choice.
- Experience with testing frameworks such as ExUnit, RSpec, Jest, pytest or equivalent.
- Experience working with profiling tools.
- Knowledge and familiarity with caching strategies and tools.
- Consuming and integrating with third party APIs.
- A passion for sports and/or gaming is considered an asset.
- NICE TO HAVE: Experience with IoT or kiosks, building GraphQL APIs, GraphQL schema stitching & subscriptions, GCP, Kubernetes, JavaScript SSR, contribution to open source software, experience working at startups, passion for sports and/or esports
